I have the following problem in Logic Pro 10.4.8: I want to import a region with midi data from a Logic track into EZbass. Drag and Drop does not work (this only works if it is a region directly from the EZkeys-plugin). – When I, as a remedy, export a midi region to my desktop and load it into EZbass, not only the region (e.g. from bar 14 to 18) is imported but all bars from the 1st bar on. That means that bar 1 to 13 are overwritten. This is very annoying!!! (I told Logic to export the midi as standard midi file (0); but without this option the result is the same!). If I import the midi file directly into a Logic track then only the bar 14 to 18 is overwritten (resp. 4 bars from the cursor position).
In EZkeys the resolution was easy: I could play the region in record it in EZkeys. But this is not possible in EZbass (this only works with audio regions and the send-plugin).
Does anybody know an elegant solution????
I found a provisional remedy for this problem. If you are owner of EZKeys you can proceed in Logic as follows:
Open an additional EZKeys track. Copy the midi region (which should be imported into EZBass) on the EZkey track (on the track in Logic, not the song track of EZKeys) and set a loop for this region in Logic. Press record in EZKeys and play the region in Logic. Stop if the playhead reaches the end of the region. Now copy the recorded region from the EZKeys song track to the „Drag Midi here“-region of the “Drums & Keys”-section of EZ Bass.
Using this method you do not have to export the midi region to the finder and reimport it into EZBass starting from bar 1, then cut the bars with notes (where the region started in Logic) and delete the parts without notes ahead and behind. And the best: Any old regions in EZBass will be kept alive!
Hopefully this will help some of the Logic users!

Thanked by: Dalil MiszczakActually, there’s no need to drag and drop I’ve discovered. Let me put it into context.
I have a midi track I call Bass Sketch (kinda like a thumbnail sketch of a drawing in a sense) where I loaded in EZBass. I had a groove in mind that I wanted to start with, so I played something out on my midi controller keyboard. I was hoping to drag and drop what I had just recorded to the track into EZBass for further tweaking, but it wouldn’t drag and drop.
Reading your post about EZKeys recording, I noticed when I had the EZBass plug-in window open, the MIDI IN was flashing as the track played back.
I simply reset the playhead in Logic to the beginning, pressed the record button in EZ Bass which then caused the play button to “glow”, which I suspect is the record ready state of EZBass. Once I pressed the play button in EZBass, the interface showed a message saying it was unavailable during recording. I played back my midi in Logic and EZBass recorded it note for note.
Voila, there you go. Now I can work on adding articulations and try different grooves.
Thank you for the hint. I will check it soon. I did not realise that there is a possibility to record a bass track. – But my hint with the EZKeys recording is rather for importing a keyboard track into EZBass for the automatic creation of a bassline by EZBass.
