I am probably being dense (wouldn’t be the first time), but I cannot work out how to alter the tuning! All my material is in Drop A# tuning, and I can’t seem to work out how to adjust tuning in EZBass?!?
It’s all done in the tuning box, top right corner of the bass tab. You can alter the tuning of the bass’ entire range with the Octave, Semitone, or Cent controllers, or alter the individual tones by using tuning system presets: Perfect, Bass, or Piano.

It appears that drop tuning doesn’t work in the traditional sense. The open strings stay the same. Example dropping down 1 whole step makes the 5th fret 4th string the low A etc. I too, use drop A and have same issue. The low B remains unaltered on 5th string open. This is gonna make things quite strange for all the drop tuning folks. I’m personally not happy about it.

Thanked by: Lex415Likewise, the first song I brought into the tool is in drop C. Same issue. Cannot tune the individual strings.
Now that I’ve read through the forum, this is an FAQ and I withdraw my question.
😉
Using the chord circle chart helped but it didn’t alter the tuning of the virtual bass. The low A note is still 4th string 5th fret. Also it makes tweaking in piano roll a bit of a challenge.
Yeah i wish i didn’t have to agree… but i at min drop D on standard, and A on my 7string. General a half step down across.
Not sure how i am going to be able to synch on standard tuning only. I would imagine the thoughts of enabling this are in the works since a lot of us metal peeps are in the same boat. Unless there is some catastrophic issue with included tracks only being recorded in standard and not being able to separate the single drop tune.
I’ll probably have to track the line on my low notes on guitar, drop the whole tuning on EZBass and then let it convert into MIDI after importing from the recorded track. Will be hard on my brain to tune everything down and in the piano roll have to make everything except the low A or D a full step above to compensate the other strings.
I agree. This should be an easy to execute function. A lot of non Metal tunes are in alternate and weird tunings… heck so are some country songs. In fact every style I have ever encountered some times uses alternate tunings and Guitars themselves including Bass are being mass produced for specific alternate tunings. Would be a wise venture to make the tuning drop down menu actually work. It cant be that hard.
Please work on an update for drop tunings!
@toontrack the biggest users of your products are the metal community I cannot believe I bought this and it can’t be drop tuned – please please update this ! I like many others will have payed and find it now redundant

Thanked by: markwilson45 and Thomas Schulte-EbbertThe metal ebx goes down to E flat so there doesn’t need to be a drop tuning option specifically since that note range will cover any low tunings.
I hear you but have you played in drop c or a# and then dropped it in the tracker ? It doesn’t cross over . If I wanted to use a midi keyboard I could just stay using the bass packages I already was using. Many invested for this feature and if you want something to be made better you have to criticise it’s flaws. You pay for it and they develop for that reason. Toontrack in fairness have always been good at listening and to be fair hit the nail on the head usually first time around. The tracking feature for me is it’s best feature as I just want to write songs as a guitarist and have the bass be tracked by file. It’s great in standard tuning but it isn’t for drop tuning and hardly any metal music is in standard these days.
