Is anyone else experiencing extremely laggy and sluggish UI performance using Superior Drummer 3 within Luna? UI performance in Logic is fine. But it is almost unusable within Luna.
(I am on a fully specced 2019 iMac)
Did you upgrade increase the ram in the iMac? I have a 2019 and increased to 40 ram.
Ive not tried Luna but use Logic with zero issues like this.

I have 40GB of RAM in my system also. Performance in Logic is fine, as mentioned in the original post.
are you using a SSD with LUNA. It all runs smooth on my iMac i9 and 16GB memory and internal 1TB SSD. All the SDX and SD3 files are on an external RAID 2TB drive because of the sheer size of them all, they take a while to load from that, but still SD3 is smooth as butter in LUNA and Logic x.
I did pay extra for the upgraded Radeon Pro Vega 48 8 GB graphics card in my iMac though.

I also have the Radeon Pro Vega 48 in my machine. Samples are installed on the internal 1TB system SSD. Unfortunately not very smooth UI performance in Luna on my machine 🙁
strange, let me go try mine again…….
Been testing and flipping between Logic and LUNA. Not a massive difference. But maybe just very slight late in SD3 UI when clicking on drum parts. Really nothing to bother me at all. I presume its how LUNA renders its screen compared to Apples own Logic?

Thanks for checking!
I have similar lag when clicking the drums. But i think the worst experience is in the grid editor. This is where a smooth and responsive UI is most important (I think). I can probably live with a sluggish UI in the other areas of the plugin.
Hi,
running LUNA 1.02.1559 with SD3 3.1.7 on macOS 10.14.6 here and I’m not seeing sluggish behaviour.
Please try changing the colour profile to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 to see if there’s any difference.
BR,
John

Thanks John!
Changing the color profile did the trick! Awsome!

It’s pretty frustrating that this is considered an acceptable solution. People have been complaining about this for over a year at least. There’s no reason SD3 shouldn’t work under the default or user calibrated color profile. How can we get this fixed by ToonTrack?
We have fixed this for the next update of SD3.
