I’m using EZDrummer 2 in Macos Catalina in standalone mode with cheapo Roland V-drums. I love the sort muted sound of the crash cymbal(s).
How can I make the crash symbal to default to this muted sound? It is the only sound I need form that cymbal – just the muted crash, every time.
I’m grateful at any attempts to help.
Cheers,
mk

GO into the Roland head unit and reassign the midi to go from the regular cymbal midi note to the squelched cymbal midi note. Refer to the manual of your Roland product if you don’t know how to do that.
To know which note goes to which cymbal you can go to the main Menu (upper right)>About Sound Libraries>Select which kit you’re working with>Select Midi Layout.
Alternatively you could right click on the cymbal in EZ drummer 2 and select Details (in the lower right of the instrument panel) to find what midi note you’re looking for.
You can not solve this with EZ Drummer 2. You must solve this with your Roland by reassigning which note is triggered when hitting your cymbal. Or if you’re using your DAW, you can refer to about 17:20 in this video… https://youtu.be/4ExyBoFKgww
