    Hi,

    Before reinstalling, try disabling “auto-save” in the settings of your standalone SD3. I was also having similar issues after the 3.1.7 update — tried everything, including a reinstall — nothing worked. However, just took a chance with disabling auto-save – and all works flawlessly again.

    I do not see a download button anymore. If I reinstall the core program do I have to reinstall the samples? What happens to the custom kits I created?

    Hi,

    if you should want to re-install the software, you do not need to re-install the sound files. Just check the Superior Drummer 3 entry in the PM, not the Library Parts. If you expand the Details, you see a Download button.

    Re-installing should not overwrite anything created by you. If you want to back up presets you have made yourself, every kind of Preset Menu has an entry to Manage Presets in Finder/Explorer.

    Hello,

    I bought SD3 a few days ago and downloaded it to a G-Drive SSD R (in Downloads : /Volume/G-Drive moblile SSD R Series.) Storage indicates about 250 GB have been used on the 1TB G-Drive, so all the dowloads of SD3 are there.  But I could access everything only from the SD3 icon on my dock.The files in the G-Drive are whited out.

    Last night I worked with Song Creator and when I tried to send the song to Pro Tools I received an Alert message: “The sound library SD3 needs to be reinstalled. It has a corrupt soundbunch:soundb11.obw.” Not sure if these problems are related, but I need to reinstall anyway, right? Do I need to uninstall first? How do I do that from an SSD drive, and how can I make sure I reinstall correctly on the SSD?

    Thanks a lot. I appreciate you taking the time to walk me through this.

    Pete

    Hi there,

    Just so I am clear, what drive and folder did you download the installation files to? Then what drive and folder did you install the sample files to when you ran the installer?

    Cheers

    B.

    Thanks for responding so quickly.

    Sorry, I’m not clear on this stuff, so I’ll just tell you whet I know.

    I sent everything –all 5 library downloads — to the SSD drive. I don’t recall downloading/installing anything else. Working on  the song last night I could hear every sample loop and I could hear the whole song when it played and when I made changed.  I could hear every drum when I clicked on the in the graphic.

    The Sounds file lists 155 sounds but when I click on any of them I hear nothing.  The corrupt file — sound11.obw  — is the file that contains the song I worked on last night.

    I can only access the screen with ‘DRUMS GROOVE MIXER TRACKER through the SD3 icon on my dock – I can’t access anything that works through the SSD, I only get all this through double clicking on the SD3 icon I dagged from the applications file and put on my dock.

    I hope that helps.

    It looks as though you haven’t run the installer. Here’s a link to the installation document;

    https://www.toontrack.com/faq/how-do-i-install-superior-drummer-3-from-a-download/

    And don’t install the sample library to the location you downloaded the installation files to. Create something like;

    G-Drive mobile SSD R-Series/Toontrack

    Thanks. I’m still having a problem though.  Just to be very clear so I don’t miss anything, I’ve installed the five Drum Libraries, which instruct you to download, install, and update, as you know. All of those are done and ready to use.  That was done the other day. But I don’t see any “Install Product Button” for the PM to launch the SD3 installer.  I can’t find a download option that says “Download Install Authorize Update.”

    Please list, if you can, the steps I need to take to accomplish this.  The manual is helpful, but I must be missing a step.

    Thanks again.

    Ok what threw me off was when you said “I sent everything to the SSD drive” it didn’t sound like you ran the installers.

    So in Product Manager go to;

    Superior Drummer 3 Library Part 1 – Basic Sound Library > Show Details > Installation Info tab

    If you could post the screen print, that will help us figure out what’s what.

    (it will look similar to my screen print)

    Here’s the screenshot. I see that there are three downloads I haven’t done. These are the ones?

    So close, I need the Details > Installation Info Tab.

    Yeah, it’s definitely broken. Way too small. I would say at this point you could do one of 2 things.

    Download Part 1 again and reinstall it. Do that by going to SD3 Library Part 1 – Basic Sound Library > Details > and you should see Download on the far right.

    Once it’s downloaded, the menu, also far right, should allow you to install it. Then apply any updates.

    OR

    You could open up a ticket with Toontrack Support and tell them which library and file is corrupt (tell them the size…. ) and see if they can just zip one up and send it to you.

    At the very bottom of the installaton manual link here, you will see a contact support button.

    Sorry I didn’t have an easier solution.

    Thanks, Brad.  Do you know how long it would take to have Toontrack Support send that to me? I’m thinking that may be the best option since this didn’t work the first time I downloaded Part 1.  But if they’re equally effective I’ll downloaded it again.  What do you think?
