How do I make this sound (Hi Hat lift?) in SD3?

Hi

I am new to SD and I am trying to

make a hi hat technique, I think it is called a “Hi Hat lift” in SD. I am not a drummer so I don’t know if this is the right name. I have attached a sample of the sound.

I have not had any luck finding anything on line. Perhaps because I don’t have the correct name.

Could someone please help me with the name and/or how to replicate the sound in SD?

You get this sound by opening and hitting the hihat at the same time and closing it quickly after that, There is no articulation for that sound, you’ll need an external midi pad or e cymbal to get it.

The term is referred to as a “bark“, and can be programmed in the grid editor with an open articulation followed by a close pedal articulation shortly after. As to how far apart you want these two articulations, depends on how long you want the hi-hat to be open.
