Hello everyone
I just bought the SD3 and its really expensive as you know. I wast trying to set it along my vdrums the TD-17 KVX and I got latency enough to make it impossible to play that way. I thought an audio interface would help me and I just bought the 2i2 in internet so it will take a while to get it and test it.
I have a Dell laptop xps 13 9360 and so far I have my module connected via USB–B plug to the laptop. I am having a lot of latency using just the SD3, it is just impossible to play that way. When setting reaper with SD3 it seems my TD-17 KVX isn’t sending MIDI signal to Reaper although I set in MIDI input devices the TD-17 module. I just cant hear when playing my drums with reaper and SD3
So my question is, How to get the most of TD 17 along SD3 ? l mean, I want to hear the sounds of SD3 good as the drum-kits ?
I just bought the scarlett 2i2 via internet but it will take a while until I can test it.
I also bought the Metal Sound Edition Roland TD-17 Drum-Tec and I really like them. High quality and sounds great. So I was really disappointed listening the sound of SD3 with such high latency with a high price software.
Is it possible at all, to listen my drum-kits along SD3 and recording MIDI/Audio in Reaper so after I can change something in SD3?
Anyway the most important to me is to know what to do to enjoy SD3 with the TD 17. It will the scarlett 2i2 help ? I know there is no MIDI out/in put of it. I picked this one because I use the USB-B cable anyway (TD 17 — USB-B — Laptop).
I spent two days trying to get the most of it but no successes unfortunately.
Best regards and be safe guys !
Hi,
what are the settings in SD3 Audio Device? You should try to get the Buffer size down (and sample rate up in your interface control panel) but how low you can go depends on CPU (which seems OK), the type of audio interface and its drivers. The Scarlett 2i2 you have ordered should be OK.

John
