hi guys,
i have a terminal issues with SD3. i want to use SD3 for live use and as mentioned before on these forums, loading multiple instances of SD3 into any DAW is a no go even with 64 gig of ram and an i7 intel processor and so i use abletons instrument rack and cache SD3 kits. Using this method, i can load all my SD3 kits into the project and figured i could use the macro knobs to turn off the one kit and on the next. this works really well, i have loaded the entire set full of instances of SD3 that turn off and off automatically. Unfortunately, ableton freezes for a second when it turns the SD3 kits OFF. the second freeze is Doable as its always at the end of a song but i also get a loud buzz which comes down all output channels inc Front of house. this is terminal of course, cant have loud buzzing scaring the crap out of the fans can you…? we have many festival gigs planned for the spring and summer, and a UK Tv appearence pending which means this needs sorting as soon as possible. can you help…?
Hi guys,
Can no one help with this issue…? Any help would be appreciated… thanks in advance!
Hi,
I would love to be able to help but I am not familiar with your setup. Can’t say it’s a tested one.
The only way I can see right now is that you need to be able to mute the outputs of your hardware when you do the turning on and off.
I don’t think that the loud buzz is connected to SD3 per se but a consequence of Ableton dumping and loading huge amounts of audio files in a few moments.
Have you checked the Ableton forum?

John
