Have you moved/copied Superior Drummer 3.component to ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components (where “~” means your user folder)? If so, delete it from there.

Thanks for the reply, I haven’t moved anything, just clicked download and install. Didn’t think I’d have my whole workflow disrupted and confusion to deal with due to an update! When I first installed I did put all the large content onto an external SSD, are you saying that I should open the desktop version and re-link?

    Superior Drummer 3 version: 3.1.6
    Operating system: macOS Mojave (10.14)

I meant if you had moved the AU plug-in earlier, before you installed the 3.1.6 update. But we could see what is wrong if you could open Terminal (from Applications > Utilities) and paste these commands, both at once:

    /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c 'Print :CFBundleShortVersionString' ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Superior\ Drummer\ 3.component/Contents/Info.plist
    /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c 'Print :CFBundleShortVersionString' /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Superior\ Drummer\ 3.component/Contents/Info.plist

Press Enter afterwards. What does it say?

I appreciate your help but as somewhat IT savvy as I might be, I’m all about making music more so! I will give what you say a go and report back.

    This solve anything?

File Doesn’t Exist, Will Create: /Users/*********/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Superior Drummer 3.component/Contents/Info.plist

Print: Entry, “:CFBundleShortVersionString”, Does Not Exist

    iMac:~ *********$ /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c ‘Print :CFBundleShortVersionString’ /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Superior\ Drummer\ 3.component/Contents/Info.plist

That fixed it? Strange. I guess the reason for the error in the first place could have been that you did not restart Logic after updating SD3.

Another possibility would be a logjam in the AU Cache, to which that somehow freed.
