EZ2 with Roland TD-15 no sound from the vdrums into EZ2 on MacBook air

  I have spent way too many hours trying to connect my Roland td15 into my  new ez drummer2. The EZ2 and expansions loaded flawlessly. From all the YouTube videos it appears to be plug and play, but not for me. I have verified all the midi connections in the Setup and I have Roland TD15 with curve1 as my settings. I have focusrite set up for audio and it it working fine with EZ2.  I’m using a usb2 printer type cable out of the td15 into the MacBook. The EZdrummer recognizes the td-15 when I turn it on. I’m running latest OS Catalina on the new MacBook Air Any ideas on what settings need to check? Thanks and Merry Christmas.
