Hello, I use my old Boss DR-660 drum machine to sequence EZ Drummer 2 via midi cable in GarageBand on my iMac. Is there any way that I can get each drum to record on a separate track in GarageBand? I would like to be able to adjust the volumes and use limiters etc on each drum on it’s own track during mixing and mastering. If this is not possible I will just record to a stereo track and try to get the volumes correct and do the best I can in mastering the track. Initially a drum mix will be transferred to my Tascam DP-32SD so that I can track guitar and vocals but then those tracks will be transferred to GarageBand for mixing and mastering. I do not use any of the built in drum patterns on EZ Drummer, instead I manually program everything on the Boss which is quite easy.
Hm, you should be able to use multi out. In Logic Pro X (the bigger brother of Garageband) you load a multi-out version of EZdrummer 2, then route the different mixer channels in EZdrummer 2 to individual outputs, which can be assigned to different tracks. From there you can mix each channel individually (the kick, snare, etc).
I’m not sure if this can be done in Garageband, maybe some more experienced Garageband users here knows this?
I used Garageband many years ago, but when I wanted to have more control over the mixing I switched to Logic. Maybe something for you to consider? 🙂

Thanks for the reply Henrik. I will see if I can get that to work and maybe look into Logic either way.
