Nothing attached. Try again please. A pdf is okay but a plain text file is best.

    Hi Olof,

I go to Add Instruments -> Search -> „Buchla 258 Snare 4 Distort“ -> change to the grid editor -> „Buchla 258 Snare 4 Distort“ named to Instrument2-> I just click into the window of grid editor, for example on a Midi Note and the programm crashes. I attached pictures. The report I already sent to you is the report of this.

This looks like a bug that we have fixed for the next update. It’s when you click in the grid editor (after having done certain things there). Do you have any way to reliably reproduce it? A project file that you could send? Then I could verify if it’s the same as what we fixed.

If you have any crash log from changing kit pieces with “Add Instrument”, please upload that too (and/or say how to reproduce it if possible).

    Thanks.

    Hi Olof,

Ok, I try to repost this, because no one answered.

I go to Add Instruments, then Search -> choose „Buchla 258 Snare 4 Distort“ -> Click into the grid editor -> „Buchla 258 Snare 4 Distort“ is Instrument2-> I just click into the window of grid editor, for example on a Midi Note and the programm crashes. I attached pictures. The report I already sent to you is the report of this.

It doesn’t crash in 3.1.4 if I try that. Can you reproduce it every time? If so, could you upload a SD3 project file for the state before using Add Instrument?

It depends on my system and Logic. It makes automatically backups. Yes, i choose a project file and then i want to change instruments in it. Sometimes this doesn’t work neither. And then it crashes.

I tried to open SD as standalone and worked on the Drums without the Song. Then opened Logic and loaded the project file and it worked. Haha.
If I first open Logic and work in the DAW I have thoose crashes.

Sorry, I’ve been trying hard to get it to crash in Logic but it just isn’t happening. It could depend on what you have on the song track or what you have done earlier in the grid editor. When you get a crash, go back to the most recent save and see if you can reproduce it. If so, open the same save in Logic again, save a SD3 project file (from the File menu in the SD3 window) and upload it, please.

Out of curiosity, I tried to see if I could make it crash in Logic and had no luck either (the Dev/QA in me also tried going a bit beyond the steps to see if anything would happen… no luck). What are your CoreAudio settings in Logic? Are there any other plug-ins being used in your Logic project?

I just tried: I have this problem with a completly new project. 🙁 I have those libraries:

    Core Library

    Electronic

    Percussion

    Preset Sounds

    but I loaded all 5.. ?

    Computer: 16 GB DDR-3

280 GB of 2 TB available

No other Plug-Ins loaded…  Is my computer the problem?

A completely new project? Okay but you can’t even enter the grid editor if the song track is empty, so you must have done something more than “use Add Instrument and click on a note in grid editor.” Maybe you could make a screen recording (with QuickTime Player for example) of everything from inserting SD3 in Logic up until it crashes?

Right, I only added a software instrument track and choosed the AU-Instrument: Toontrack Superior Drummer 3 -> Stereo

Then opened the Grid Editor and Add Instruments. If I go through the sounds my computer hard disk is hard working. You can hear that. I‘m a bit stressed at the moment. Will try to make a video of it soon.

Hi Olof, here is the video of the crashes. I sent you a non-public link from my YouTube Channel. https://youtu.be/19ZXKEq7IQY

    – It takes a bit time if the Drummer 3 is loaded.

    – I can’t move the grid editor window.

    – It crashes if I change instruments or I just working with it after a some minutes.

Thank you, that’s really helpful. I can now reproduce that crash so I should be able to fix it.

The crash (or memory corruption that may cause a crash later) seems to happen only if the grid editor is open (detached) when you add an instrument.
