I have been doing some early and middle 1960’s covers and really need some easy and uncluttered Backbeats but every thing I find in my libraries seem to be a bit cluttered in sound.
Also, the ‘Fills’ are mostly over the top frantic and cluttered for the sound I am looking for. Can someone suggest which library has basic and uncluttered Backbeat rhythms and non-frantic fills? This is for 1960’s music, Vogues, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, etc.
Have you tried the Webshop MIDI function in EZdrummer 2, where you can preview all MIDI files Toontrack has released?

You can reduce the amount of hits on the drum kit by using the edit page. Select the drum you want and adjust the hits up or down. Do this for each drum in the kit that you feel is to busy.
Yes, thanks . I have tried that to some degree but the results weren’t very satisfactory. Maybe I need to spend more time with it but I am in the middle of a project where the bulk of time is needed for many other aspects of the arrangements so stopping the workflow to try to tweak the drums is difficult especially when tweaking them is giving marginal results.
I haven’t. I will see if I can find some lighter 1960’s drum rhythm’s. The music I am doing is really light Pop/Rock from the 1960;s and I am finding that many of the libraries I have are just too heavy and driving for that era of music. Looking for a lighter Surf sound for some of them, ‘Venus’, Green Grass, 5 o;clock world. Gary Lewis and the Playboys, The Vogues, D.C 5 etc. But especially the fills, they are just over the top hard hitting and busy. Need sparser and lighter.
