Combining MIDI notes in SD3

  I’d like to know if it’s possible to combine 2 different notes in SD3. Like dragging D2 on top of D1, combining it into a single hit. I know the stacking is used for that sort of thing but when you add an “instrument” it assigns it a different note. Can that note be combined with another one without having to copy all the D1 hits onto D2 (on the grid), for example. This was possible in SD2 just by dragging and dropping the one “key” on top of the other under midi mapping.
