    Hi Stuart,

Look into SD3 settings/performance and use only 1 core.

SD3 with multi core engaged can cause some erratic behaviour.

    May be this will help.

I’m afraid this made it worse, it crashed 3 times in very quick succession. Any other ideas?

I have been having some crashes and with dump sent off to Avid. I am hopeful that the 2019.6 update released yesterday addresses the problem, although I know was released quickly to fix a local disk problem.

I don’t have anything else to suggest other than try the Avid forum.

May be some trouble shooting might help to identify whether it is Protools 19.5 or SD3 that is causing the problems.

However, I imagine that downgrading PT and trying both SD2 then SD3 is going to consume a lot of time.

Wish I could be of more assistance.

    Regards

Just wondering whether the PT 2019.6 update has resulted in any improvement. So far my system hasn’t crashed. YMMV.

    Hi Brad

Upgraded to PT 2019.6 but the problem is still there.

    Hi,

I am running SD3 3.1.4 on 3 different Macs (2 Mac Pro’s and a MacBook Pro) and I have not experienced what you describe.

I am not running more than 1 CPU core and have been running Ultimate 2019.5 until 2019.6 was released.

What else is running at the same time?

    BR,

    John
