Howdy! New forum user here….
So, I just bought the Simmons SD600 e-drum kit and am using it to control EZDrummer. I was able to change the MIDI notes in the Simmons brain to get it to trigger the correct samples. BUT the hi-hat is giving me fits.
Please help. This is the only thing keeping me from using EZDrummer with this kit.
Thanks!

Hi,
can you record the MIDI from your HH while playing?
If so, you can check what exactly gets sent and how the CC Data looks.
Fully open should be ‘0’ and fully closed ‘127’.
Did you select the ‘Generic (CC-Hihat)’ E-drums preset in the Settings?
If not, I suspect you may be triggering the wrong articulation.
To have the CC data opening and closing correctly, you need to trigger the dedicated ‘Trigger’ articulations.
In the ‘Details’ of the HH instrument drop-down you can check if you are triggering correctly.

Hi, John!
I was able to verify that the CC4 data is the opposite of what you specified. It is OPEN at at 100 and CLOSED at 0.
Additionally, I figured out the note 86 issue. The kit has that note assigned to a hi hat splash which triggers halfway through the open/closed cycle. I figured out how to access it and re-assign it.
So, what do I do about this “reversed” CC4? There is no way to change it in the Simmons module. I can change notes, but not controllers.
Thanks!!

Do you have any response to this? I am having the same issue with the same kit. I can reassign everything in the Simmons module but this. For me the HH pedal being halfway open/closed and me hitting the HH results in a Ride edge hit.
