Me thinks Avatar is called NY 1 these days, but i am confused too as i moved via upgrading from EZD to SD2 to SD3.

There is N.Y. Alliare, there is N.Y. Hit Factory and N.Y. vol3 on my installed & confusion list too, but with the SDX boxes i bought ‘my products i find ‘SD 2. 0 Core Avatar’, NY vol2 and NY vol2.

What is NY vol1 now, and do i have an old version not suited for SD3 with my Avatar from SD2? Do i need some upgrade?

And then i have a Music City boxed too, an old version bought on ebay recently: whats that then?

    What’s what … ??

    Hi All

I just installed “NY Studio Vol. 2 SDX” and wanted to check the new kits. Some informations seems to be missing from SD2.

Where can I download the missing “SL-Avatar” Pack, since the SD2 Producs are no longer availible? I purchesed the SDX to have all the options, not just a part of it.

Thanks in advance for your help

    Best regards

The original S2 SDXs made use of the S2 default library sounds for some of the SDX presets because you would, of course, have to have S2 to use any SDXs. Since the release of S3, that is no longer the case. There are some users that only have S3 and SDX (older ones and/or ones released post S3).

So, when an older SDX preset is loaded without having the S2 sound library installed (SL Avatar), you’ll get an error.

There has been discussion on how to best deal with this issue, both for new users without S2/Avatar, and those that do. Toontrack is looking into the issue.

    Hi Scott

Thank you for the fast reply. Exellent service.

Well, there is an easy solution. Just make the SD2 librarys free for SD3 users 😉

Please keep us posted on the upcoming solution.

    Thanks again

    Cheers

    That’s a great idea, hurray !!

Well … it still drives me crazy; i am not from N.Y.
So maybe rename the company LOONTRACK? BTW nice full moon recently .. MOONTRACK, or MOONSTRUCK just as i am now.

But, let’s face the music: SD3 is actually a great weapon, one i never regretted buying.

I’m going to keep an eye out here for the solution as i had it happen too. I am an SD3 user only.

What probably would be more helpful would be telling us which kit pieces were missing and have a disabled or muted placeholder for them.

Even though I initially found this issue not denigrating to my experience using these particular SDXs it would have been more helpful to me to know what was missing to encourage me to further experiment as I often love to do with SD3, rather than play 20 questions.

This issue completely locks up my SD3 and ends up with me having to do a reboot. My only option I can see is to select “load without missing drums” which then stops the program from playing any sounds even if I replace the drums with something I know is available. Very frustrating, and the only bad experience I’ve had with any toontrack product. I hope there is a resolution soon.

The easiest way to create kits is load a SD3 kit then replace each element using sounds from the sdx. That is what I do and set up all my kits that way to keep them uniform. I also do that with my ezx libraries.

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

Is Toontrack still looking into this? Easiest solution would be a discount on NYC Vols 1 & 3 wouldn’t it of say 70% off? Let people complete the collection and Toontrack get a little back.

Nope. The missing items are part of SD2 not the NY SDX.

They are selling incomplete SDX’s and they need to find a solution to have all parts availible. Otherwise it is false advertising at its finest.

It just brings my OCD to a whole new level that i can not use all the kits availible.

Step up to the problem Toontrack. You made such a great tool. Dont mess this up.

Looking at the forums it seems this is not the only SDX that suffers from the issue of missing pieces due to the loss of the SD2 library. Since the NY V1 is supposed to be the complete sound library from SD2, would installing that SDX put the missing pieces in place?

Discussion?? So I just spent 159 Euros on the Custom and Vintage expansion and it doesn’t work with Superior 3? In fact, most or all of your expansions don’t work with the newest version of your software?  You have got to be kidding me.  Make the missing libraries available to Superior 3 user immediately.  There should be no discussion. Amazing

The solution to making all the presets function is downloading NY Vol 1. Once I purchased that and installed it, all the presets from all the libraries that seem to be problematic begin to work flawlessly. Not sure why toontrack hasn’t just included this sound library as an update for the libraries that have issues, but they haven’t as of yet and it doesn’t look like it’s happening any time soon. I took advantage of a sale on NYV1 and it cured all my issues. I would also like to add that even though it seems like a bad deal to buy a library with just one drum kit for the same price as one with 5 or more, the increased focus on that 1 kit makes it sound so much better to my ear. While I wish I hadn’t had to pay additional money for NYV1 just to make presets from other libraries function, I can state that the quality of the NYV1 library sounds makes it worth owning.

This is probably why there’s no rush to fix it. People buying more to fix the issue.
