Hi, im new to edrums and picked up SD3 recently. If i was to make covers of songs, is it possible to record drums through SD3 or do i have to use a DAW such as pro tools (which i also have), do i need to connect them together? whats the difference between the two?
Thank you!
Adam
You can record the drum MIDI version of your performance
within SD3 without the use of a DAW.
So, depending upon the extent to which you intend to ‘make covers of songs‘,
you will need a DAW to record performances of other instruments (and vocals) in your cover versions.

Thanked by: adam_smith117okay thanks mate, if they were strictly drums only, could i do it solely through SD3 then? are they any advantages to doing it though a DAW even if it will be purely drums?
cheers
Adam
If anything, it’s all in what you’re comfortable using. For me, I’m mainly using SD3 to enter my drums because it is DAW agnostic and I like SD3’s tools for editing.
