I don’t know the answer but have given up on doing this myself. It used to work fine with sd2 but it seems you have to get the temp map into SD3. If I want to split up now I tend to record the output through the multiouts into my DAW. I would prefer to use the bounce function as I did before but suffer the same problem as you as well as the beginning not lining up. SD3 seems to assume you would use its own midi but when you create a track in a DAW the tempo and time signature have to be in the DAW for all the other tracks. I don’t want to have to go through getting it all intonsd3 when I only want to use it as a plug-in vst. Frustrating.

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

Is there some step that i’m missing?

If you want to Bounce with the DAW tempo map there are 2 ways:

    1. Import the Tempo Map from the DAW to SD3 by using “Import Tempo from MIDI file…” in the Track menu down to the left right above the songtrack. Then Bounce using the “Export Song as Audio Files…” in the same Track Menu.
    2. Activate Follow Host in SD3 and then play through the whole song while recording in your DAW.

There is no way to Bounce in SD3 using the DAW tempo map directly since SD3 can’t get to the tempo information in the DAW without playing through the whole song as in step 2.

Hi there I’ve tried both the suggested ways of doing this and its still not picking up the tempo map changes from my DAW.

    Hi,

if you have the Tempo changes on your SD3 Song Track, then deactivate ‘Follow Host’ right before you use the Song Track Bounce.

This worked when I ran into the same issue! Thanks Toontrack for clarifying!

Same problem. I give up. I’ve followed all these steps, and the bounced files are still about 8 bars too early and not following the tempo track. The SD3 player follows the tempo track just fine. I can bounce in place with Logic. SD3 just refuses to do the bounce according to the tempo track. Bring back SD2, I never had these problems. This putting the midi files inside the plug-in is a nuisance.

    Hi Raymond,

if you have imported the Tempo/Time Sig from Logic to the SD3 Song Track via a dummy MIDI file and then Disable ‘Follow Host’ before you use the SD3 internal Bounce, everything should work as expected.

Please check if your SD3 Song Track’s Tempo and Time Signature matches your Logic Pro’s Timeline. Also, if you have a minus Bar offset in Logic it will complicate the synching.

    BR,
    John
