I have attempted to load several midi files into EZ Drummer 2 and although they play, they don’t play at the correct tempo. It seems to default at 120 BPM. Every other platform, to include Logic Pro, Pro Tools and Garageband, all play at the correct tempo. In the case of this particular example, the song is 97 BPM. I have to manually set the tempo in EZ Drummer which seems to me to be a wasted step. Is there any way of setting EZ Drummer up to see and accept the tempo of the external midi files? Thank you. I appreciate the help.
Is Follow Host activated in the EZD2 interface? Which host? Is the MIDI file in question in the EZD2 Song Track or are you browsing in the MIDI Browser?

Yes, “follow host” is selected in Pro Tools. Still playing at 120 BPM. If I set up an instrument track in Pro Tools, then set EZ Player as an insert, I have tried dragging the midi file onto the “drag midi song blocks here” and importing using the “import midi file.” I have also just dragged the midi file into Pro Tools, which Pro Tools recognizing as midi tracks, and then adding EZ Drummer 2 as an insert on the midi drum track. Same results, the tempo is defaulting to 120 BPM. I am having the same results with tempo issues with the stand alone player as I am with Pro Tools.
Problem solved with Pro Tools. I deleted the previous session and started a new one. This time when importing the midi file, I made sure “import tempo” was ticked. Set EZ Drummer as an insert and bingo, spot on.

Great! Glad to hear!

Okay. Glad to see that guy found a work around.
For the rest of us… how do you solve this same problem without using third party software?
