I just built a new DAW last weekend and I am now getting into installing the Toontrack products.
So far I have Product Manager up and running and have done a clean install of parts 1+2 of Superior Drummer (Main program/core library AND the room mics). I have opened and tested SD3 and it is working great at this point.
During the initial setup of SD3 – I specifically want ALL sound libraries to install to my S:Toontrack folder. This is a large samples drive and it has plenty of space for anything I may want to use now and in the future.
Now I want to install a selection of my purchased EZX libraries that I have for EZ Drummer 2. I want to be very clear that I do not wish to install EZD 2 – I only want to install it’s libraries for use in SD3.
But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the EZX stuff to install to S:Toontrack like the payload for SD3 has.
When I go into Settings in SD3 and go to the Libraries tab – I see this under the Additional Libraries area
And when I hover over the Edit button – I see a message that says “Cannot change a working Additional Libraries path”.
So now what? There must be some insider trick I am missing here. Do I need to move the content that is currently in that path – over to my S:Toontrack area or is there some other way?

I’m having the same problem and can’t find an answer anywhere online. My C drive is full and I need to move 30G of EZX files to another drive.
If you move the EZDrummer folder away from where it is now, the Edit button will become enabled.

Thanked by: Makrem RadhouaniSo all i have to do is cut/paste the default EDX folder in C drive (EZDrums… or whatever it’s called) to D drive, close and reopen SD3, and the additional libraries path button will become active? I can then click on the additional libraries path and tell it to find my EDX files on D drive?
Why can’t you just do that from within SD3 like you can with the SD3 sound libraries I wonder?
I’ve been losing my mind trying to google how to change the additional libraries path. I was going to have a crack at creating a symbolic link between two drives out of desperation just to get around the problem…but if what I’ve described above works, that would be awesome.
Please tell me that’s how we move the EDX libraries to another location/drive.
Exactly, that’s what you have to do.

Thanked by: Makrem RadhouaniCheers Olof. I did what is described above and it worked a treat. Weird how that info doesn’t appear anywhere in the manual…maybe it’s just obvious and I was too clueless to work it out.
Hopefully Bruce McDonald reads the replies above and solves his similar problem. It was driving me insane not being able to figure it. Thanks again

I finally did figure out. But what an obscure PITA method of having to do this.
Would it kill Toontrack to put a simple line or two of text somewhere on that giant empty Libraries tab – on just how to change this path?

I will take a note of this request! Thanks for the feedback.
