My Windows 7 machine finally died and I’m having a new computer built that will be running Windows 10. Am I correct in saying that EZ Drummer 1 will not run on Win 10 ? What is the upgrade price to EZ Drummer 2 just to get support for Win 10 ?
I don’t need any new features. EZ Drummer 1 suites my needs just fine. Paying $150 just to get support for a modern OS isn’t going to happen. I don’t support companies with such policies. I’d be much more likely to spend that money or more on one of your competitor’s products. I’m also much more likely to spend money with a company that has proper tech support that can answer a simple question. Have a nice day.

When EZD2 was released and EZD1 was discontinued, Toontrack offered an upgrade. This offer was available from the EZD2 release date (May 6, 2014) until December 2015. The upgrade has been discontinued since December 2015.
This is ridiculous! most companies out there are treating their original clients with more respect and fairness. There is absolutely no reason that EZDrummer ver. 1 should not work with windows 10 unless you intentionally made it not to work! How come all other cheaper or even free VST’s that are even older than EZD1 are working just fine with windows 10 except for the most expensive one that I purchased! You are not dealing with morons here, most people using this product are computer savvy. This is insult to our intelligents. I would never ever buy any product from you guys again and I’ll actively advise all the people in the community to do the same in all social media and other platforms out there. If anyone else on this forum is in the same situation like me, I would encourage you to do the same! Toontrack must be ashamed of themselves!!

The original EZdrummer was released some 13 years ago. It’s virtually impossible to create a software that, without maintenance, can be used with all coming versions of Mac and Windows operating systems. To keep all old software updated would take so much time that new software couldn’t be released. This is the way things (unfortunately) are for all software companies. Toontrack will never deliberate develop software that will “stop working” at a certain time.

For the same reason existing, registered customers didn’t get an automatic email telling us about the upgrade. Toontrack don’t realize bad news travels fast. I was just about to buy ezbass, easy mix and master. Instead I went to Plugin Alliance, SSD 5.5, Ample Metal Ray 5 bass. EVERYBODY asks me for recommendations because I’m an old fart. I have told everyone to stay away. Don’t appreciate being held hostage. If you gave the EZ drummer2 as a free upgrade to your registered customers you would benefit from mouth to mouth advertising and the boatloads of cash I( and many people like me)would’ve spent on all your other products. Fire your useless PR personnel and stop letting the bean counters ruin your business. Up until last year I was a die hard EZ guy. Good thing I was able to lift all your midi files into SSD. Works perfect.
PS: ample metal ray gave a free upgrade for existing customers and SSD was selling upgrdes fro SSD 4 to SSD 5.5 for $40.00+tax

I also just changed my pc with the windows 10 version. I was advertising your software in France for 15 years. I find myself with yours and its expansions unable to use them !!! it’s a real shame !!! you really have a trade policy of real scammers !! I do not greet you !!

100% agree with the comments above. Ez drummer not supported on windows 10?!! Why? I paid good money for a product you have withdrawn because you don’t allow it to work on windows ten. Shame on you ripping off people like this.
like Henrik wrote a few posts above, there is no intentional crippling of old software, a 15 year old software (discontinued for 7 years) must be updated and maintained for compatibility with future OSes not even invented at the time it was created. I have no other software that old that still works on my new computers. Likewise no software I bought at that time has given me free updates/upgrades to current OSes.
Emails were sent to existing owners with upgrade offers and there have been several over the years. Unless you have opted out of being emailed, of course.
I have a copy of ezdrummer but can not install it on my Windows 10 laptop because it doesn’t have a CD player. Is this product still usable or do I have to upgrade it. It would be something that I would rarely use so I am good with the older version to jam guitar with. Please let me know.
I agree with the others here. It is frustrating that Toontrack won’t do the minimum to make EZ Drummer 1 work with Windows 10. We are not asking for updates, troubleshooting support, etc, just the ability to run in Windows 10 as it did in previous Windows versions. All my other software & plugins are working with Windows 10.
