Hello
I am an SD3 newbie and need help routing individual drum / cymbal channels from the SD3 mixer to a Behringer X32 mixer with the built -in X-USB audio interface. For example, if my SD3 kit has 8 drum mics and I want to be able to dedicate each output drum mic channel from SD3 to 8 independent channels on the X32. I am not using a DAW. I am using a Roland TD-50 and SD3 is installed on a MacBook Pro with 16Gb RAM and a 512Gb SSD.
Please point me to where in the manual I can find instructions to do this. If this is not documented, then could someone please provide me with the necessary detail?
Also, please help me understand why the SD3 channels are in stereo pairs instead of mono channels. This is very confusing to me.
Thank you in advance for your support!
Warmest Regards
CW
In Settings / “Audio/MIDI Device”, go to Out Channels. There you can select to route more than the default stereo outputs from SD3 to your hardware outputs using by enabling “Multi-out”.
Then you use route different channels in the SD3 Mixer to different Output channels – which will send each output channel to the (above) selected hardware outputs.
For example
In the Audio MIDI device settings, you route out output 3-4 to your hardware outputs 3-4. When you route something to output channel 3-4 in the SD3 mixer it will send that audio out on your hardware outputs 3-4.

I haven’t tried a X32, but the above explanation is the general way to do this. Please reply back on your progress, or if you have further questions!

Hello Henrik
I appreciate your quick reply and the instructions on how to route more than the default stereo outputs using “Multi-out”.
I am having an issue where the Hi-Hat is configured to route to output 3/4, but it is being routed to physical channel 1 on the X32 mixer. Can you think of what may be causing this and how to resolve?
Thank you again for your support!
Warmest Regards

Check that you have routed 3/4 to physical output 3/4 in Settings. Then check that only the hi-hat microphone channel is routed to channel Output 3/4 in the mixer. Finally solo the channel Output 3/4 in the mixer to make sure that you don’t hear any bleed from the hi-hat into other microhpones etc. If you do this, can’t you still hear the hi-hat in 3/4?
In that case is my bet that some settings in the X32 has to be changed – but it’s beyond my knowledge on how to do that. Maybe we have other Sd3 users with an X32 here?

Does this also apply to Other interfaces? In have a Focusrite thunderbolt clarett 8pre.
thanks
Hi all – Sorry to bring up an old thread again. I’m currently in this same situation. I’m using SD3 live and using the X32 as my interface. I’d like to route all the MONO signals into my board. When I was using ProTools to route into the board, everything worked fine and all channels were separated. I found this thread: https://www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/sd3-muliple-outputs-to-interface/ that explains workarounds for anyone who needs this done.
But if there has been a resolution to this issue, please let us know. This is a much needed feature for all of us in this situation.
Thanks!
