I seem to be having issues with SD3 not picking up CC messages sent from my Roland TD-50.
When I first got everything installed, I was able to calibrate my VH-13 and get it reasonably dialed in, to where it would close tight and fully open with my pedal movement. When I would load a different SDX, or even change presets, the sounds would change and the hi hat would no longer fully close when the pedal is down. When I would open the Hi Hat CC Edit to validate the calibration, it is grayed out with a message “This Property Box only works when used with CC hi hat”. I also get this message now after saving my original project with the calibration working correctly. The hats open and close properly, but the setting is grayed out not accessible.
I have the Roland TD-50 preset selected from the MIDI/E-Drum setting, and if I look in the MIDI Monitor, I can see the CC#4 messages when I work the pedal, but I am not able to make any adjustments or even see the calibration settings.
I’m running SD3 standalone within Windows 7.
Is this a bug, or am I overlooking something in the settings to get this working again?
Hi,
which version number is displayed in the lower left corner of the plugin?
If anything else than 3.1.2, please use the PM to update.
Did you save your own preset after tweaking?
If you click to disable ‘Use Preset’ on the MIDI IN/E-drums page, does it work to edit any settings?

John

Hi John,
Thanks for your reply.
I am running version 3.1.2.
After I made the adjustments, I saved my project as set it as the current default. Deleting this and restarting the software did work. I was able to Show the Hi Hat CC Edit and it was accessible. After loading a different SDX, it is now grayed out again and even restarting the software does not enable it. The Use Preset option in MIDI/E-Drum settings is now disabled as well, enabling it has no effect.
Hi,
I cannot reproduce so I will have to ask my colleagues about the next step.
BR,
John

Hi,
which library do you switch to when it’s no longer working? Some of our EZX:s do not have a CC controlled hi-hat, and that is when that error message should pop up.
Could you post a screenshot of your e-drum settings in a state where it is not working?

Hi Christoffer,
After I got it working again, I loaded NY Avatar, the SD2 Core Library, and the issue was present again. I’ve attached a screenshot which shows the issue present at startup with the standard SD3 library.
