    Cant you just open a instrument track in PT and load Superior 3 ??

    To record MIDI to the PT instrument track that SD3 is inserted on, like lostlure said, insert SD3 on stereo instrument track, record arm and hit play/record on the PT transport, done.
    To record MIDI to track within the SD3 plug-in (to manipulate with the SD3 grid editor, for example), it takes a few more steps; (providing instructions for Mac as the OP has not indicated what platform they’re on and I use Mac)
    1) Pro Tools – Preferences > MIDI Tab – Set “Default Thru Instrument” to “first selected MIDI Track” (Otherwise you have to record arm the track in PT)
    2) Insert SD3 on a stereo instrument track
    3) Open SD3 and make sure “Follow Host” is selected.
    4) Select the record button on the SD3 transport.
    5) Press Play on the PT transport.
