Hi All,
Has anyone been successful in getting a second hihat in place and use that using with a Roland VDrums kit? In particular I’m interested in using the CC notes from the 1st hihat on the second hihat so that opening and closing is working also on the second hihat. I have been using this concept on my TD50’s drum module but would like to mimic this behaviour in SD3.
Thanks in advance,
Cheers,

I’ve trying to assign the cc value of my hi hat to a second pair of hats but this immediately removes the cc value of my main hats.
Is there no workaround for this?

Each CC and MIDI note can only be assigned to one instrument/articulation. Can you achieve what you want if you stack the regular hi-hat’s open and closed articulations with the extra hi-hats corresponding articulations?

Hi Henrik,
So by adding a stack on the main hats will that follow the CC value of the main hats?
That sounds great, but I still have one pair of hats to hit, right?
Using alternate midi values will work fine but drum modules are not capable (not to my knowledge) to send multiple CC values as there is just one hi hat controller. Ideally the second hihat would leverage the control values of the maiin hats so that pedal movement comes from there but uses different midi because it is using a different pad with the sticks.
I can’t give it a spin right now as I’m away from the kit for two weeks.

Hi Henrik,
I gave this a spin last night. I added a second hihat to a kit in SD3 and mapped that to a cymbal. Changed the edge of the cymbal to correspond to the edge of a hihat articulation and mapped the bow to map the articulation of the bow of hat.
This way I can have a second hihat that works on a cymbal or pad but will not have it to correspond to the foot controller of the main hats. I guess it is the second best thing.
I’ll settle for that I guess. Thanks for your support.
