Hi
Sorry if this has been raised before but I’ve gone through the posts for last 9 months and couldn’t find an answer to the question I have.
I hope someone can help or advise the best (well quickest!) method.
I have recently upgraded to SD3 from SD2. When creating drum tracks using SD2 I would do this via EZ Player Pro so I could drag and drop loops in and out of the track lane to build up the drum track. Yes it’s a bit cumbersome as the workflow in EZ Player is limited and the copy/paste functions are very outdated.
So with the track lane in SD3 being much more versatile, is there a way of copying the drum track (retaining the individual loops etc) into SD3. I have been able to select all loops in EZ Player and drag to SD3 but this just creates 1 full midi loop and doesn’t retain the separate loops so I can go and locate these in the grooves browser.
Is there an easy way of copy the loops over or am I just going to have to copy one loop at a time or start again and pull the loops within the SD grooves browsers to recreate the drums tracks?
I’ve attached a screen shot of what I’m trying to do if this makes things clearer.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Hi,
I see what you’re trying to accomplish but the EZplayer Pro plugin is 10 years older than SD3 so they don’t speak the same lingo. MIDI dragged over from an EZplayer Pro track will not be able to be located by right-clicking it.
If you haven’t made any special customisations to the grooves on your EZplayer Pro track and want to be able to locate the individual files easily, I’d simply pull up both plugins next to each other and check which files are used in EPP and then recreate in SD3.

Perhaps the best way would be to drag over all at once so you get one long block, then use the scissor tool in SD3 to cut the block up into the original lengths. Then if you need to locate a loop in the browser, you can use Tap2Find (right-click the block, Find > Search with Tap2Find).

Thanks for your assistance. Much appreciated. Looks like a bit of scissor time required
