Hi, I have done a lot of work on productions using the Classic EZX 4 Mic kit in EZD2, it’s great, but I am also very fond of the Indie folk, and Alt Rock EZX kits…
But, I have used the snare ‘Ruff'( on Eb) a lot in the Classic, and find when I change kit, it’s not there…. and if I change the snare to the Classic snare, it’s still not there!
Maybe there is something I’m missing, but I guess the articulation mappings should e consistent across EZXs?
It’s a small thing, but would be delighted with any help,
P
Hi,
the ‘Ruffs’ articulation is a special articulation not included in most EZX:s. It is more likely to be included in Superior SDX libraries but it is not recorded for all Snares.
So you’re not missing something.

Simple solution is to open second instance of ezx with just classic snare loaded and then don’t load snare in Folk ezx.
A less simple work around I use is to…
open a second instance of EZD in your daw with just the Classic snare loaded.
Copy the midi data from your drum track to other instance and mute all midi data except the Ruff(Eb).
Then mute ruff midi data in the original track to prevent ezx folk kit being triggered on that note.
When both tracks run concurrent only the ruffs will be triggered from The Classic kit, while Folk ezx will be triggered by the original midi track .
Changing the pitch of the ruff source drum can help blend it into the mix…
Some EZX kits support the Classic kit ruffs, both Americana and The Blues ezx do…
Hope this helps.
