Hi TT.
Been using SD3 for a while and yesterday decided i was ready to start using all extra bleed channels, except surround mics / channels, but after i installed the bleed i was presented with not wanted Surround channels in the mixer too? This went to be a bit distracting having to hide those channels per kit-basis as i like to start out songs from a preset before tweaking further so i sat down to look for a global switch which would have been the most logical to me.. also could not find any topic in the forums regarding this… so.
Is there a way to permanently disable / hide those unused channels on a global basis instead of with each kit? .. Or does the engine prevent you from doing this as you seemingly have tied this function to a kit?
May put up a feature request in case it’s possible
Hats off for an inspiring and very nice sounding drumpackage
Cheers
Magnus
Thanks for the feedback! It’s not possible to control this from a global setting, but it might be a good idea so I’ll take a note of it.
I can describe how the system currently works:
If channels should be hidden or shown is decided by the preset maker. So if you load a Drums and Mixer Preset, the creator of that has decided what channels to hide. If you hide, or show, some channels and save a User Preset, that state will be saved. The same goes when you save a Project, it will will look the same when you open it the next time.
To make you workflow a bit quicker; have you seen that you can right click a channel and select “Hide” (instead of clicking Edit Visibility and doing it that way)? It does also work on multiple selected channels…

Thanks Henrik
Forgot about my qustion until today when i got inspired to edit some kickdrums..
Yes, i actually found the hide function as RMB was the second most logical place to start looking for this feature so it was Hide i used..
I was about to ask what the “presetmaker” was as i couldn’t find it in the GUI but then my brain caught up with the situation and i had a laugh as you most certainly meant the preson that made the preset.. But yeah, i see now what you mean..and actually it was the Default kit i was tweaking from so that makes sense you guys wanted to show off the entirety of all features there.
Is there by any change any estimated amount of presets using the surround channels?
Thanks anyway for your time.
