If you ever tried to edit a “groove” while using sd3 with a DAW it is very frustrating. keyboard shortcuts don’t work in sd3, they are reserved for the DAW which requires one to use the mouse to do simple things like undo etc. Also I get crashes. Please add a simple feature to play a stereo wave file ( a bounce of the tune you are working on) in standalone mode. this would let you edit the drum part as you hear the associated audio., use key shortcuts, conserve processor resources etc. and when finished, return to using sd3 in the DAW and load in the drum part you’ve constructed with out crashes and the frustration of no keyboard shortcuts etc Also it is easy to drag and drop midi from sd3 to the DAW, but to do the reverse you must export from the DAW, import to user files, then bring the file into the timeline. Very time consuming. How about the same drag and drop from the DAW to sd3? I’ve tried but the clipboard data does not transfer to sd3. Thanks
Hi,
your request (which I personally also think is a good idea, if it can be implemented without compromising other stuff) aside; how the host/DAW lets keystrokes through to the plugin, is DAW dependent. There is also a setting in SD3 > General, where you can enable keyboard shortcuts in other hosts.
Dragging from host to plugin is also limited by the host, very few hosts allow this.
