The SD3 midi editor is a beautiful thing, in fact so beautiful that I’ve started using it over my DAW (Logic Pro) for editing my drum parts recorded on my eKit.
I can’t seem to find a feature request thread but if possible, one addition that would be fantastic would be to be able to reverse the “Sync to Host” function…IE, Sync your DAW to SD3. The reason for mentioning is having to go back into Logic to click on a specific part of a song to listen to it rather than being able to just click on the midi time line in the editor in SD3 and listening from there.
I appreciate you can do this if you’re not in “Sync to Host” mode.
It would be a great feature, but plugins can’t unfortunately control the DAW:s… We are keeping an eye on the development of the ARA protocol, which has some advantages for plugins interaction with DAW:s, we’ll see what the future holds 🙂
Thanks for the feedback!

Hi,
AFAIK, regular AU/VST/AAX plugins can’t control its host in any way, SD3 would have to be ARA or ARA 2 compatible and not all hosts are.
Feature requests can be posted in the ‘Requests & Feedback’ section of the Forum.
