The best way is to move the plugin back to the original install location so any updates will work, then set that install path in Cubase to find it. Cubase allows for multiple install locations so this isn’t a problem.

    hello there !

I’m having some issues with my installation too.
On my 1st install 2 weeks ago, cubase elements 7, win7, everything went as intended, worked really nicely.
I bought a new PC last week, upgraded to win10, same cubase, but i had some driver issues with my scarlett 18i20 gen1, couldn’t fix it, so I went back to win7 on my new machine.
I had to reinstall it all for the 3rd time, but this one didn’t go so well.

For some reasons, the stand alone can’t find the plug-in, even though i set the path to what seems to be the correct folder (see the attached file) and while using cubase, it finds superior 2, EZdrummer but not superior 3 in the plugins set path thingy.

Any idea ? if you need more info, let me know!
    thanks for the feedback !

Please try first with running the SD3 3.1.2 plugin update again.

    Hi John !

I deleted the stand alone, my SD3 folder where the data was, reinstalled the upgrade, though, this time it doesn’t offer me the update (2,2GB usually) and tells me, as shown in the attached file, that it’s up to date.fail-upgrade.png

ok, so, for the 5th time i believe, i did the re-install, updates, upgrades, the way i did the 1st time 2 weeks ago.
same results, “failed to load plug-in”fail-upgrade2.png

    Hi,

I was only referring to the plug-in, NOT the library.
You do not need to re-download and install the Library=Sounds.
This is the 324 MB Download on the Superior Drummer 3 product tab. You should be able to re-download it.
I would uninstall it before running the 3.1.2 update again. And once again, not the sounds, just the plugin (also includes the Standalone).

    BR,
    John

ok thanks for the clarification !

Yet, for every re-install, it also included the plug-in. I did it once more just now, (plug-in alone) still no success, fail to load plug-in error message
I also tried different SSD, different folder, same error over and over, as if the stand alone could not read the dll file

Can you do a Windows search for the Superior Drummer 3.dll? Are there more than 1?

2 files named the same and i tried them both for the stand alone plugin path :2dll.png

Manually delete them both and run the latest update.

after deleting those 2 files, i ran the update which re-installed the superior drummer 3.dll in the VstPluginstoontrack folder only

results on launching the stand alone : “the superior drummer 3 Plug-in could not be found in the location expected”
i tried to “set path” to the svt/toontrack folder, and error : failed to load plug-in

Perhaps there is a permissions issue with access to that location? Are you logged in as administrator?
