    Hi,

could you please try going to Settings > Advanced > Restore MIDI Database?

I opened up the same session today after noticing an update to the sound library. I did the update and the strange behaviour stopped. Like chalk and cheese. I finished my session for the client with no worries.

Maybe the library update was the issue, not sure…

Thanks for your reply. Still loving Toontracks!

PS I may have a slight obsession. Every time I get your ads in my email I usually end up buying something. Loving the UK Pop drums and keys (midi)!

Just took a look at TPM…101 products I have bought!?!?!…yes I have a problem lol!

    Hi everyone,

I‘ve just installed my new purchased SD3, installed everything and all updates that were available straight away and now have experienced exactly the same issues as Shane Dixon while playing back the jazz samples. Restoring MIDI Database didn‘t help. What can I do? Cause there are no more updates available.

    All best,

    Owen

    Hi,

the OP experienced strange results when using a client’s MIDI with Song Creator, you write ‘while playing back the jazz samples’.

Can you describe exactly what you are experiencing, please?

Hi, I’m experiencing the same stuff as the previous user. You can only hear awkward patterns of the snare and bass, which is equal on every loop in the grooves section, the only difference you can hear are the different tempos on every loop. But it’s always the same strange loop. All the other style loops are alright.

I’ve installed it yesterday on an other Mac and the same thing happened. This all is happening. It must be a bug of your latest updates.

    Please help.

    Owen

    Hi,

you should have 10 different Jazz grooves with sub variations in your SD3 library under ‘Superior Drummer 3 > Brushes’.

If you switch over to a Brush kit, e.g. ‘Jazzy Brush’ and run through the Grooves in ‘Brushes’, doesn’t it sound like expected?

If you click the ‘Shop Web Shop MIDI’ button, you can explore grooves not in your local library.

You have to provide me with audio examples or recipe to reproduce for me to understand what you are experiencing as ‘awkward’ and wrong.

Hi John, I‘ve included an mp3. This is how the bug sounds.

I don‘t have any “Jazzy Brush” in the fully installed package as you can see in the screenshots.

    Hi,

if you check under ‘Special Tools’ you find the ‘Jazzy Brush’ preset.

If you switch to this preset, you will find that the groove you selected in your screen shot sounds completely different.

The grooves listed in your screen shot are all found under the ‘Brushes’ section in the ‘GROOVES’ window, so they will not sound correct or ‘awkward’ as you describe it when played with other tools than brushes.

You do not necessarily need to select the ‘Jazzy Brush’ preset, there are other Brush presets and you can always right-click an instrument to see if there are other tools listed for it at the bottom of the drop-down menu.

So no bug, just the wrong tools selected for the groove.
