    Hi,

where did you install the SD3 Library? Is it the full library?
Is there any library in that location now?
If you download and run the SD3 Core MIDI Library from Library part 1, what happens?

    BR,
    John

If you enter the Settings > Libraries, you should see an ‘SL-Superior Drummer 3’ entry and an installation path.
That’s where the library should be.
If you visit the Product Manager, under ‘SDX EXPANSIONS’, you should see whether or not the different library parts are installed.

Pls see attached screenshots. Notice the path that says EZ Drummer. This may be because I had EZ installed before?

Is that all it contains? Then you have never installed the sound library on that computer. So just run the installer – click “Install Product” for Superior Drummer 3 Library Part 1, select path and let it install.

Thanks! Would it make a big difference in speed, functionality if I install these in an external HD?

I will use/load VST mostly through Ableton

It depends on the speed of the external HD vs the internal, but it only affects library loading times. Once the library/preset is loaded, working in SD3 is generally not affected, nor playback performance.

Thanks. When about to install the Basic Sound (about 39GB) Library I get a mssg saying are you sure bc all libraries will need 235 GB.

I can add the the basic library to my Mac at 39 but I dont have 235 GB on my Mac for all libraries. Im guessing not good idea to have them split between mac and HD….

If I were to install in Mac it says Library/App Support/Superior Drummer.

So, what kind of path of folder do I need to create in external HD?

Note the external HD I could use right now has stuff in it (its huge) but it does have photos and videos.

    Pls advise

    Hi,

it’s not a requirement to install all parts of the library. You can’t split the library parts between locations, so the parts you decide to install either goes to the internal or external HD.
The ‘SL-SuperiorDrummer3’ folder containing the library parts you decide to install does not need any specific path.

So can I install only parts of the basic sound library?
