Good day, trying to add midi files to the user libraries section of the grooves tab yet I’m having no luck. I’m not able to drag and drop file, I cannot add sub-folder, the option is there yet when I select “add sub’folder” nothing happens. Open in explorer does not open the folder for user midi and when dragging files directly to the folder and selecting ‘sync file changes’ nothing happens. Reviewed the user manual and went online however I’m not finding anything topics that answer my question. .
When you open User MIDI in Superior Drummer 3 Grooves tab – do you see all the files that should be there? if you restart Superior – does your added MIDI files show up?
I’m trying to investigate if your User MIDI is placed where Superior isn’t looking for it…

There are no files in user midi regardless of how I add them or try to add them. The user library is located in file C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesToontrackEZDrummerMidi. All Superior and EZX files are located here as well.
I’ll ask a coder to look into this matter!

The path to User MIDI is: %USERPROFILE%DocumentsToontrackEZdrummerUser MIDI
Chris, please check if that path exists. If not, something must be stopping SD3 from creating it (permissions or if there is a file with the same name where there should be a folder). You can paste the path or parts of the path into the address field of an Explorer window.
Actually, the %USERPROFILE%Documents part COULD be something else, it is just the Windows default. You can see the current value of this “documents folder path” by copy/pasting the following command to Command Prompt:
reg query “HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerUser Shell Folders” /v Personal
Post a screenshot of that if you are unsure how to read the ouput.

Hi, I think I understand, the path for me would be C:UsersCrabzilla New LapTopDocumentsToontrackEZdrummer.
The folder User MIDI is not in the EZdrummer folder, there is nothing in this folder.
Should you need it I’ve attached a screen grab from the CMD prompt.
I don’t see anything attached…
Can you create a folder “User MIDI” within that EZdrummer folder (without being asked for administrator password or something)?

Yes I added the folder and now it appears to work. I was able to drag the file to the folder, select sync file changes and the midi I added there shows up. I was also able to drag and drop the midi directly to SDX3. If you still need it I’ve added the attachment. Thank you for your help.
Maybe it would be a good idea to let SD3 create the folder automatically when installing if it’s missing. After some research I could finally solve this exact problem, but it took some time and I’m sure there are plenty of users out there having the same issue with the missing folder.
For me the user midi function was the final piece for this astoundind plugin, but I think this issue, as small as it is, should not appear for the sake of satisfaction . Maybe you can add some sort of automatic folder creation in the next update!
Just my two cents

Not to make excuses for anyone, but like anyone who was already running EZDrummer2 and/or SuperiorDrummer2 on their system,
the User MIDI folder had been created quite some time ago. Must have slipped by in coding & testing.
