    Hi,

as you’re on Windows and do not have EZdrummer 2, I think the easiest way would be to uninstall all drum sample player plugins (not the sounds!) and EZplayer Pro.
Next, you can re-install the Superior 3 plug-in and perform a Custom install. Then you should be presented with the option to set the location for your ‘EZHOME’ repository, i.e. where all your Toontrack MIDI and EZdrummer EZX:s will be installed, e.g. ‘(Large drive) E:Toontrack’.
When this is done, you should be able to move the entire ‘EZdrummer’ folder from your system, located either @ ‘C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesToontrackEZDrummer’ or ‘C:Program Files (x86)ToontrackEZDrummer’ to your external drive, in the example above: ‘(Large drive) E:Toontrack’.
The next time you start SD3, it should pick up the MIDI and EZX:s correctly.

    BR,
    John

OK…that’s not too involved of an option, just the plugs…kinda’ what I thought would need to happen.

I saw this thread about the same thing…do you think this is as effective and safe, using the Registry Editor?
    https://www.toontrack.com/forum/superior-drummer-3-help/ezdrummer-content-path-edit-button-grayed-out-cannot-change-midi-directory/

It looks like it should work the same and is a quick edit, just want to make sure that it doesn’t leave any other “artifacts” in the Registry Editor that could cause issues.
I was thinking anyway about leaving the MIDI in the existing EZD directory…and just moving all my sample packs to the dedicated drive (it’s actually an additional internal drive, not external).

If I go with the plug uninstall…can I leave the MIDI files where they are, and move just the sample packs? I assume the EZD folder will stay even after I uninstall the EZD plug…?

    Hi,

    1. Registry editing is never supported unless explicitly advised by a Toontrack programmer in a specific situation, so you’d be ‘on your own’, so to speak.
    2. The ‘EZHOME’ location is for Toontrack MIDI and EZdrummer 1/2 EZX:s. It is one location, it cannot be split into several.

Uninstalling the plug-in(s) will not erase the ‘EZdrummer’ folder.

    BR,
    John

I’ll go with your plugin uninstall suggestion…won’t mess with the Key.
It’s not a problem for me to keep the MIDI and sample packs together…I just wondered if they could be separated.

That was easy and fast…worked perfectly.
