I never remember, I have too many Midi packs…. they aren’t named according to pack.

It would indeed be very helpful to have the MIDI parts we’ve used to be named after the MIDI files in the Grooves tab.

    Hi,

    haven’t seen that, no.
Can you please try going to Settings > Advanced and click Restore MIDI Database?

If you have added some User or 3rd party folders to the Grooves Browser, you need to do so again afterwards.

    OK,

can you transfer that MIDI to EZdrummer 2 and see if it can locate it?

Actually, I re-instantiated the plugin, and that seemed to do the trick. I have some other weird issues though atm.. I will create another thread for them!

Nope, happening again in another session. Really don’t want to have to rebuild the track again in another instantiation of SD3. I will try dragging it across into EZ to see if it can locate the midi, or see whether the metadata itself has been corrupted.

Ok tried dragging it into EZ Drummer, and EZ can’t locate it either now..

So now I tried taking the built version of the song in EZ Drummer, and dragged across a few midi parts to a track in SD3. The Find/Show in Browser is NOT greyed out, but when you select that option it doesn’t actually locate the Midi part in the groove library. Also it doesn’t retain the metadata telling it whether it is an intro/verse/chorus etc.

So, for those of us that want to take the songs we have constructed in EZ Drummer & drag them into SD3, not so good, unless of course I’m the only one with this issue?

But more concerning is the issue of songs built directly in SD3 loosing the metadata reference. I’m also seeing some strange behaviour like reassignment of power hand in the part without me doing it.

Happy to do more troubleshooting – ish.

In what environment is this? OS version and DAW/host version?

Anyone else find this isn’t working? From the Midi Track where you have dragged your Midi part to, when you click on Find/Show in Browser, this is greyed out.. I use this a lot to find out where I took the midi pack from – I never remember, I have too many Midi packs..

We need to know a bit more about what’s happening here to find the bug.
    – Do you change the grooves (using Edit Play Style, Grid Editor or similar)?
    – Have you cut or merged the grooves?
    – Does Show in Browser work from the beginning, but when you have worked on the project for a while, the menu item gets disabled?

So far I have worked on 2 projects with SD3. Both featured songs built from grooves from scratch, although I tried dragging them across from EZ2 initially , and immediately found problems – stripping of part identifiers, and loss of the find/show in browser option.

In both of them there was no cutting or merging of the grooves. Some small editing in Play Style, none in Grid editor. Find/Show in Browser worked at first, but then ceased to at some point. In one of the sessions, I noticed all of the power hand assignments had randomly changed. This affects all of the grooves in the song equally. I have also had two spontaneous crash quits of Logic whilst editing in SD3 so far.

Further to that, I have just reopened the session I was working on yesterday, and in SD3, where I had rebuild the song track, now the Find/Show in Browser option is again greyed out.

I just tried opening a new session, with no template, and instantiated SD3 and opened the saved preset of the song, and immediately the Find/Show is greyed out. I also tried import the individual track from the Logic session, and that way too it shows as unavailable.

You can have a copy of the aupreset to see if that happens on your system..

Want me to try anything else?

There seems to be a bug that makes Show in Browser disabled after you load a saved project (in the standalone, or in a DAW). Can this be the bug you are experiencing?
We will look at it and get it out in an update as soon as possible.

Yep, looks like that may be it. Just tried that. Saving, closing & re-opening produces the same thing.
