The attached photos should help explain this. As a disclaimer, the photos are “right-side up” in Windows Explorer, but when I dragged them into this form they were sideways; hopefully they’re viewable.
Here is what happened. I changed the song key to A-flat. I then dragged into the main track, “Variation 2” from AOR | Swing 6/8 | Elements 103bpm. Notably, I purposely set the time at 4/4 and purposefully used a 6/8 file because I was trying something out. In any event, I dragged in a second copy of the same variation, sliced two measures of it (but left them in place) then changed my mind. Here is where the oddity occurred:
Instead of simply “undoing” the cut, I highlighted the entire second instance, right-clicked and selected merge. All the “flats” changed to their respective “sharp” versions, none of which (I believe) are proper in the key of A-flat.
This was completely reproducible, though I did not try it with (a) other libraries, or (b) using a 4/4 variation with 4/4 selected as the time.
Very odd. Hopefully this can get addressed.

Just so I get the problem correct – the notation of the chords changed incorrectly, but the MIDI (the audible parts) was still correct, and not changed?
I have made a note of it so we can have a look at it as soon as we get the time!

Henrik:
You are correct about the sound remaining the same but the notation changing — sorry for not making that clear .
Thanks for looking into it.
