True, and this EZX installer does not require EZdrummer 2. Could it be that you also have or have had Superior Drummer 2 installed? Then it must be at least version 2.3.0.

I don’t think so, I’ve never bought or tried it.

Hm, and you are really sure that EZdrummer 1.4.0 is installed? You can open EZdrummer and it says 1.4.0 in the interface?

I see you are on Windows. Is it 64-bit or 32-bit Windows? What version?

Yes, I opened it to check it out, says 1.4.0 (64-bit) in the corner.

I have some Toonstrack/Superior/EZDrummer keys in regedit, maybe I did install a demo in the past. Or is it from EZdrummer? What would be the steps to fix this if I have had a demo install of Superior Drummer?

If you open Command Prompt and run the following command, it will show what versions are deemed installed:

    reg query HKLMSOFTWAREWOW6432NodeToontrack /v SDIVersion /S

    It says:
End of search: 0 match(es) found.

Looking into it through the regedit, I see ToontrackSuperiorEZDrummer and the following keys:
    ToontrackSuperior
    PlugPath
    PlugPath64

    ToontrackSuperiorEZDrummer
    CPKey
    CPKey2
    CPKey3
    CPKeyIx
    HomePath
    PlugPath64
    SoundPath

Could this problem be because I only installed 64-bit version of EZDrummer?

It could have something to do with that, because only 64-bit of EZdrummer 1 should not be possible to install… First you install the full product installer version 1.4.0 (a 547 MB download), which gives you only 32-bit. It should write an SDIVersion in the registry. Then you can install 64-bit from the 1.4.0 update (a 40 MB download). And don’t uninstall the 32-bit after that.

It might have been in the past. My local backup of the EZDrummer I installed is from the July 2012.

Alright, I uninstalled and installed a fresh 1.4.0 and then added 64-bit version like you told. DFH installed fine and activated as expected.

    Thank you for your help.
