I love the midi packs the awesome features in EZ keys for writing songs but how do I get the midi packs and EZ keys to play sounds from other virtual instrument like Omnisphere or Machfive? Also, I’m on ProTools.
EZkeys has a MIDI out function.
EZkeys MIDI Out function requires Pro Tools version 8 or later. Before you start, you should make sure that you are familiar with how to operate Virtual Instruments in Pro Tools and that you have a copy of YFSG (Your Favourite Sound Generator) configured for Audio and MIDI playback.
1) Inserting the plug-in:
• Insert EZkeys on a Mono Instrument Track
2) Setting up:
• Create an Instrument Track with YFSG instantiated on
• Enable the ‘Instruments’ section view (lower left corner of the mixer window)
• At the top of the Pro Tools mixer, access the MIDI I/O for the Instrument Tracks
• Set the MIDI Input of your YFSG Instrument Track to ‘EZkeys’
• Record-arm the Instrument Track YFSG is inserted on
• In EZkeys, press Play

and what is the trick to mute ezkeys and just have YFSG play only?
Mute the Audio Output of the Instrument Track with EZkeys inserted.

ok, i had a bit of play with this last night in Reaper, and muting the ezkeys track muted the send to the YFSG. I will figure that out soon enough
Order is the key in Reaper. When you activate the FX in the track, place the sound you want to hear at the top of the window. As an example, add a B3 simulator first, then your EZKeys. Turn down the volume in the EZKeys interface. The sound produced will be your B3 simulation powered by EZKeys MIDI out.
