Make sure you have checked “Preset Sets Routing” in the bottom of the main library preset selector, under “User Presets”. When it’s checked, the outputs saved with the preset will be used 🙂

Thanks Henrik, I thought I did that. I am using Toontrack solo. This will work on any preset I create? Or existing kits only?

    Hi,

why are you using Toontrack solo? You’re supposed to use the EZdrummer 2 application when using EZdrummer 2 Standalone.

Hi John, I didn’t know that. I thought I needed to use that for the audio setup to send it out thru my Steinberg UR824 to send to 8 outputs to the front of house.

    No,

the EZdrummer 2 application can be configured to use Multiple outputs, as many as your audio interface supports.

But I would need toontrack solo for superior right? I will try the ezd 2 stand alone tonight. I noticed I can save a created kit’s output when I saved it..is there a way to save all the existing kits like the modern basic..etc?

Hey thanks John. It works well. Now my only issue is mapping the dtx900. I wish I had a better grasp on midi to do this. My crash 2 chokes and a have hats on another channel. Pain. I hope I can rectify this soon.

Can you please elaborate on your problem with the 2nd Crash? Is your DTX900 @ Factory mapping? Are you using the Yamaha E-drum Preset in EZdrummer 2?

John, yes I am using the Yamaha mapping. I have used the factory mapping from yamaha. I’ve tried the general midi and user kits. That did not work. I tried using bfd3s mapping which was better in the module but I still have crash two choke intermittently on random Ezdrummer 2 kits. Also I have a third crash I’ve added that seems on some kits to trigger crash one and a hihat. I’ve changed cables and cymbals..same issue. Is there something I am missing..had this problem for two years..the choke I can correct if i record the midi and delete all the poly after touch events. But that does not help me live.

    OK,

I was thinking that you maybe were triggering the Crash 2 Mute Hit on note #50 (D2) instead of the Crash Hit on note #49 (C#2) but if you are seeing polyphonic aftertouch on the MIDI track when recording and removing it cures your problem, then it has got nothing to do with the software. You need to find the culprit in your hardware setup, whether it is a setup thing in your module, X-talk (though I’ve never experienced it with aftertouch) faulty cables, etc.

Well I’ve used 2 or 3 different cables & cymbals..never messed with xtralk..not even sure how that affects the drum..and should it be applied to the cymbal or what is interfering.. Wonder why nothing else acts like that..bfd3 doesn’t do it

Well, if you see aftertouch data where there should be none, that is clearly not Toontrack software related, i.e. the plugin cannot write that by itself to your MIDI track.

If on the other hand the aftertouch data you see is coming from the other Cymbal and/or the note number triggered is #50, then we have something to work with.
Can’t answer for BFD 3 but maybe they use an unmuted Crash for the note#50 – IF that is what is triggered

John I’ll have to check that out as soon I have rehearsal again. Thanks. I will let you know.
