Hello Scott, thanks for asking. I will answer your question hoping you answer mine.

I am a bit new to EZKeys – big BIAB guy for years for song writing but found so nice midi sound track and flexibility in EZKeys in the past month or two. I have a longer track record with EZDrummer. And when EZDrummer 2 came along I was as impressed as the rest of the industry with the progression and advancement.

So back to EZKeys. I felt right away EZKeys was like a Version 1.0 release. Then I noticed my current version was 1.2.3 which confirmed my feeling. There is just a lack of development maturity to this program. Not a bad thing but certainly something that I would love to see advance. Is advancement in the works?

Here are a few off the top of my head suggestions for EZKeys 2 – although I am confident you folks know a lot more then me in this area.
    Primarily workflow enhancement features:
    1) For example, I have the Strings and Keys Midi pack which provides dual midi track. But the standalone version can only handle one “track”. So I suspect it all has to be handled in the plug-in in the DAW (Reaper by the way).
    2) Key and tempo adjustments to different sections – again I don’t see an easy workflow for this except in the DAW.
    3) Working in the standalone version and in the plug in at the same time is very clunky with only one “use this directory” option.
    4) How about build a song? like you have it in EZDrummer2?
    5) And how about a “power hand” analogous to EZDrummer2 which controlled the complexity and velocity of the midi?
    6) Push chords ahead/behind the beat by a 1/8
    7) Oh and by the way – where are all the endings for the different MIDI packs. I have a 6-pack and they seem to be missing a bunch.

Would love to see other users add to the list.

I’m sure Toontrack is working to improve EZkeys. Am I allowed to share any details or comment on future releases? No. I’m under an NDA and want to keep my job. 🙂

I hope others share their requests for improvements to EZkeys.

A year and a half later, I’m still here and using and buying new midi packs. But alas no updates to the core program. A bit disappointing, but I am still a big fan.

Why does it seem like we are all growing older and more mature, but EZkeys has never aged (Still version 1.2.5)!  Come on guys lets grow up.  Certainly I am not the only one who has ideas for how this program can mature along with us.

I’m just curious, do you have a Soundcloud page with stuff you’ve done with EZKeys.

I’d like to hear what you’ve done so far with it.

Well, since you asked.  Lots of EZKeys in here: https://soundcloud.com/dan-hoch-784636941/in-a-latin-mood

Over three (3) years and still no EZkeys 2.  Guys, I am not a young man and don’t have an infinite amount of time to enjoy what you are working on in development.  So can you please get to it.

As a new SD3 owner, I’d like to see the ability to intelligently add/subtract grace notes, bass, melody and overall complexity.

    SD3 v3.3.6, EZbass v1.1.7, EZkeys v1.3.4
    Studio One v5.5.2, Cubase v12.0.60
    3.6GHz Intel i9 iMac, 64GB RAM, OS 12.6.1

I’d personally like to see what the original key is for a track, instead of having to drill down the menus, and then drill down again to turn it off.  It seems like a relatively easy thing to add on the main page (similar to play in original tempo).

    Thanks.

I think and overhaul is definitely due. Something parallel to the SD3 update we all are STILL in awe and appreciation over. 🙂

    Re-sizeable interface

    Better browser and song creator

Ability to edit midi within the interface

    Tap To Find feature

    …Just a few ideas 🙂

And they announce well in advance, so there seems to be no EZKeys 2 coming in the foreseeable future.

For those that are new to how this works regarding updates to EZKeys.

About once a year someone like yourself comes on and asks, “hey, are you going to update EZKeys?”

Then the response is, “I’m very sorry but we don’t announce any updates or products that we are working on.”

Then throughout the year various other products are announced, introduced and also updated, but nothing for EZKeys.

And then in January 2021 we will repeat the process for EZKeys and then a year after that we do it all again.

After enough years you begin to get that, “Deja Vue” feeling.

But, it’s okay, ’cause I’ve had it for years now.
