I would like to start off by saying that EZD2 is pretty awesome!!! Sounds great, very user friendly and easy to navigate, and is running smoothly.
I am a black/death metal guitar player and have been writing songs for a quite a while, but have not been able to find any drummers to work with living in a smaller town. I’ve done a bit of drum programming, but feel like a lot of the time it’s not what real drummer would do. When I found out about EZDrummer and Superior Drums I was stoked! Did some research, figured out what I wanted, bought the program, a few kits and a bunch of metal MIDI packs and loaded it up. With all the MIDI packs I bought (the metal 6 pack with all the extreme drums, metal foundry, and a couple others) I thought I would have every drum pattern I could ever really need. Then I started going through the library…
Practically every single blastbeat and double bass patterns is in 4/4!!! Half my songs are in 12/8, I’m back to having to program the drums again… At least I have the kit sounds to do it in, but I was really expecting more variety in time signatures. 12/8 isn’t even that odd of a meter… I mean, there are a few 6/8 and 6/4 rhythms, but they are very limited.
All in all… Please, please, PLEASE, put together a metal MIDI pack with some more meter options for extreme metal!!!
