    Hi,

    please uninstall EZdrummer 2.
After the uninstaller has finished, please search your system drive for ‘ezdrummer.dll’ and delete all entries that show up.
Next run the Full 2.0.2 installer first and then both the 32-bit and 64-bit 2.1.1 updaters.

    John,

Can you elaborate what 32 bit 2.1.1 updater is suppose to do for this using 64bit plug? My main recording rig is humming along no issues at v2.1.1. – Laptop is another issue.

After receiving the same message as the gentleman above: This EZdrummer is not the latest installed on this system.
The version you should be using can be found here:
    c:Program FilesCommon FilesVST3Toontrack

I downloaded and installed v2.1.1 and it crashes stand alone and likewise Cubase 8 for me with RUNTIME ERROR etc etc crash dump report: xxxx

Uninstalled EZD2, searched and found no .dll afterward, and reinstalled. Continued to get “Latest Version find here: c:….VST3Toontrack” up until I installed 2.1.1 update then only crashes standalone and cubase

Tried per your suggestion of installing both 32bit and 64bit updates (after installing 32bit ezdrummer2.0 and 2.02, which I didn’t really want on my system)
Both 32bit/64bit stand alone and Cubase plugin worked with “not the latest version” message until I updated to 2.1.1 again, then began crashing every attempt to start after.

As far as I can see Studio PC and Laptop have .dll in same folders. not sure why one works no hiccup and the other doesn’t

Any idea what I’m not getting? never installed 32bit update on studio pc btw. running out of ideas and time. may have to end up tolerating the “not newest version” message and whatever EZX-MIDI features I’m missing out on rather than keep trying and failing at troubleshooting this.

    Thanks for your time,
    Nick

    John,

On my machine that’s working I found the following:

    C:Program FilesSteinbergVSTPluginsToontrack64bit
    EZdrummer.dll
    EZkeys.dll

    C:Program FilesVstpluginsToontrack64bit

    EZdrummer.dll

No EZdrummer.dll in c:program files….VST3 and everything works good on that system

Restarted from scratch on the laptop and right away same “This is not the newest version” up until the 2.1.1 update and everything crashes again. I tried changing the install path to match the home PC w zero luck and also the default location. Confused b/c I am 100% sure I used the default location on all my installs, so why the difference? Any ways, when the standalone crashes, it says Program: EZdrummer64.exe stopped working which I know is in c:program filestoontrackezdrummer by default. When it crashes inside Cubase 8 it says Program: (blank) has stopped working

Unistalling update does nothing productive. I’ll have to start over in the morning

    I downloaded the TT290 Full 2.0.2.

Uninstalled Toontrack on both the Program Files and Program Files (x86), searched for folders containing ezdrummer.dll and deleted it. Unzipped the download 2.0.2 zip file. Reinstalled with default settings.

NO LUCK. It still says that there is a newer version on my machine and won’t run it. GAAA

PS With all this folderol, I am now unable to run the standalone EZKeys.

I am not sure there is a single solution to this yet but the runtime error producing the crash dump part may be corrected by removing the following files:
MidiDB, MidiDB_fav, MidiDB-shm, MidiDB-wal (if they exist) from
    “C:/Users/”CurrentUser”/AppData/Roaming/Toontrack/EZdrummer”
    and
    “C:/Users/”CurrentUser”/AppData/Roaming/Toontrack/EZdrummer/OnlineMIDI”

I am awaiting input from my colleagues on the other stuff.

@Hookjaw.Brown, please run the latest EZKeys Player update to get your EZKeys running again.

    Update
    8-11-15
    on re-install
I still get the following message
    “Error
This Ezdrummer is not the latest installed on this system.
The version you should be using can be found here:

    C;Program Files (x86)Common FilesVST3Toontrack”

There is a *.dll file at this path but not a *.exe file.

Even when I change the target path during installation.Re-installs at

    C:Program FilesToontrackEZdrummerEZdrummer64.exe

    @John

These paths do not exist in my directories:

    “C:/Users/”CurrentUser”/AppData/Roaming/Toontrack/EZdrummer”
    and
    “C:/Users/”CurrentUser”/AppData/Roaming/Toontrack/EZdrummer/OnlineMIDI”

    @Nick,

The EZdrummer2 that does install with the error message does not support the editing functions of the midi.

    Ok,

I am truly sorry I forgot to mention that the ‘AppData’ folder is hidden and how you access it.
You can open the Windows Explorer and type in ‘C:UsersyourComputerUserNameHereAppData’ to access it, or click Start > Computer > Hold ALT + T to get the tools menu open > Folder Options > View > Enable “Show hidden files, folders and drives” and Untick “Hide protected operating system files”. I would prefer the first way myself.

From a colleague I have heard that it is actually possible that deleting those files may actually cure the problems for the both of you.

So I uninstalled all EZdrummer products. Tried to re-install EZdrummer 1, since I had purchased the upgrade and not the full license. It wouldn’t install. The upgrade wouldn’t install on top. EZdrummer will not install any of it’s programs. I am ready to ask for a full refund of all the EZdrummer sound packs and programs I have bought, because they DON”T install!

I have spent about 20 hours re downloading all the programs, cleaning the computer and although I like the product, this sucks.

Everything was working great til the newest upgrade and pfuit, it is all gone. I got things to do, places to be, and I don’t have more time for this nonsense.

Well, after a bit a thinking….(the hard part), I decided that the step I was missing was after uninstalling EZdrummer products I needed to reinstall the original EZdrummer software first.

    1) Uninstalled all EZdrummer software.

    2) Searched and deleted EZdrummer.dll files.

    3) Deleted the hidden file “C:/Users/”CurrentUser”/AppData/Roaming/Toontrack/EZdrummer”

    4) Downloaded ALL my purchased EZdrummer files, along with the upgrades.

    5) Installed the original EZdrummer, with upgrades to the default location.”C:Program Files (x86)ToontrackEZdrummer”

    6) Installed the EZdrummer2 UPGRADE.to the default location

    7) Installed EZkeys to the default location

Now the Standalones work, with out the error message. I found that I have forgot how to change kits and packs…..
