I seem to have problem with my installation. I got 64 bit OS, I got 64 bit DAW, i have re installed the 64 bit EZ2 version over and over 10 times
yet It says I have 32 bit.
It works to “use pathway anyway” but it seems a mess.
I chose “extract all” and followed instructions clearly, got updates etc.
The thing is, my sound libraries, they get spread all over program files. I get like 20 different maps with metal, jazz blablabla EZX_metal something for example
like 20 of those.
I dont know what is wrong here, but It seems I cannot use my product properley
Hi,
it seems like you have installed the ‘EZdrummer’ folder containing all the sounds and MIDI into the 64-bit only path, e.g. ‘C:Program FilesToontrack’, which is not recommended.
The Default path is ‘C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesToontrackEZDrummer’ which makes it possible for both 32-bit and 64-bit components and programs to access it.
Your other problem seems to be that Reaper loads the 32-bit version of the EZdrummer.dll and bridges it, instead of loading the 64-bit version.
Please check the paths for VST instruments in the Reaper preferences and also I would recommend you turn the bridging of 32-bit plugins off.
Regarding the spread out sound libraries, I must ask you to post screen shots to get a better understanding of it.

I’m seeing the same, all of a sudden. It tells me that the latest installed version is somewhere else. I close it, then open the trk plug & it works., but, this has never happend before & I haven’t recently changed anything. Also, even though I’ve installed the latest version & it is on the location that it tells me, when I open the plug, it says it’s version 2.0.0, instead of 2.1.1.
What am I to do?
Do a search in Windows and tell me how many ezdrummer.dll there are. If you open the EZD2 standalone, what version number is shown? What is the path to the standalone version? Is it the same as the path in Reaper?

are you addressing me? I use Studio One v.2. I don’t use standalone.
The standalone is installed automatically. You don’t have to use it all the time. Just open it and see what the path to the plug-in is set to. It is useful information for me to solve your problem.

What is the path to that 2.1.1 standalone? You can find the location of the EZdrummer 2 plugin by clicking “Help” > “Show Plugin Path.”
Is that the same path to the EZD2 plugin set in Reaper? If not, set it to the same location.

The ezdrummer is in Program files/ toontrack/ezdrummer.
Also, when I open standalone, it’s looking for the audio device, but before I can set it, it crashes, each time I try.

Are you saying that is the location of the ezdrummer.dll? Is this the path you set in Studio One?
I don’t know anything about your system (OS version, audio device on your computer, RAM, etc) so I can’t comment in why the standalone crashes.

Do I just copy the .dll files into the ‘common files’ folder?
No. Don’t copy or move anything. It will break all future updates (updater won’t find plugin if copied or moved).
