There is probably some other issue, with the connection or the drivers to the keyboard. Can you get your keyboard working with a DAW (Cubase, Logic etc)?

Unfortunately I cannot try it with a DAW. I received access to a whole bundle of software with the keyboard but the only DAW provided was Reason Propellerhead. I can’t connect with that because it isn’t compatible with the Korg (I checked with Reason). I haven’t purchased another DAW product yet while I’m mastering the range of other software provided as well as the new EZ2.

Have you installed (any) drivers that came with the keyboard? You can download the latest drivers from this page: http://i.korg.com/SupportPage.aspx?productid=701

There is also a program called KONTROL Editor on that page. I haven’t tried it myself, but it might allow you to check if your keyboard is connected properly.

    Hi Henrik.
I had already double-checked that I have the latest driver from Korg so that is up-to-date.
I also already have KONTROL Editor installed on my computer and it does confirm that the keyboard is properly connected. The keyboard is also working with 7 other software programs that I have although there is one other that I am having the same problem with as EZ2.

It’s strange because I haven’t heard of such a problem before – when the DAWs and other software finds the hardware keyboard, EZdrummer 2 should do that as well.
Are you using PC or Mac? I will check with the programmers tomorrow to try to find out what can cause this – they refuse to work Sundays Wink

    Hello again Henrik
I am using a PC running Windows 7

I checked with the programmers – if your windows system finds a MIDI device it should show up in the MIDI device panel. It would make it easier if you could try a host software and report if that can find your keyboard. We haven’t heard of such a problem before, so we suspect that there’s something in the connection of the hardware and the drivers, rather than a bug in EZdrummer 2.

If you want to, you can have a look at this tutorial and try to see if your MIDI device will work properly according to that…

Firstly, my MIDI controller is currently recognised by, and working with, the following software host programs: Korg Legacy Cell, Korg M1, Korg M20, Korg Kontrol Editor, Korg Monopoly, Korg Polysix, Korg Wavestation, Reaper, Lounge Lizard, Ultra Analog, Strum Acoustic, UVI Workstation and MIDI Ox.
I have watched the tutorial and had already checked via Device Manager that the controller was connected and working in conjunction with the computer. I also did the check with MIDI Ox and, again, all is communicating properly.
I still have the problem with EZ2 but also the same problem with two other software programs, Addictive Drums and Addictive Keys by XLN. I am in communication with XLN but so far I have failed to resolve this issue. It seems I am running out of possible solutions to try.

After several other attempts to get communication working in standalone mode of EZ2 and the other XLN software, I have had no success with either and deleted all XLN demo software from my computer. As I have purchased the full product of EZ2 product, I am left with only being able to utilise it with the integration of the keyboard.
    Very disappointing.
