That was a feature of RTAS that did not make it into AAX. Go and bother
Avid about it and maybe they will add it.

you got to be kidding????? That terrible!!! Avid is horrible to deal with. They are completely disconnected from the people that use their product. They should take a lesson from toontrack. You guys are tops!

So I tried this PT 10.3.9 which is rtas and it is still not working???? Could it not be something else?

    Hi,

I read on one of the Avid tech’s blogs that the ability to drop something back to a plugin was actually due to a fault, a ‘loop-hole’ in the coding of the old RTAS structure from the TDM days and was working pretty OK in general until more developers started utilizing the ‘loop-hole’ in their own different ways which in turn led to instabilities Avid couldn’t control. So when they laid the groundwork for their new AAX platform, this was patched up and since Pro Tools 10 is a RTAS/AAX hybrid, I am pretty certain it doesn’t work from version 10 and later.

That really sucks. … All the more reason now for EZD2 to have a piano roll. I find a groove that is close to what I want, put it in pt, make changes with piano roll and I used to bring it back to ezd tap to find to see what else there was. Can’t do that unless I export the midi and that takes mooter time.
    Piano roll please

You can hit the record button in EZD2 and it will record the MIDI from PT into the Song Track in EZD2. Faster than export/import a MIDI file.

Press the record button (below the track) in EZdrummer.
As soon as you start playback in your host (with MIDI on the EZdrummer 2 track), EZdrummer 2 will record the notes being played from the hosts MIDI.
Now you have the MIDI inside EZdrummer 2. Edit it and then drag it back to your host.

Is this a feature that always worked in EZ Drummer 2?
All the Time when I had a Midi Track in Pro Tools and wanted to use exactly that as for the Tap2Find I just pressed on the Tap2Find Button and then I tried to exactly start Pro Tools playing so it synced with the EZ Drummer Click.
Why the Hell didn’t I do it like you described it Embarassed. From now on I can be a bit more productive using EZ Drummer.
But as other users mentioned it already it would be great to have a small Midi Editor where con toss around the Hits.
Sometimes I want to just add or remove some Hits here and there and it’s not very comfortable.
Maybe just do another Window for the Edit Playstyle and create a Drum Editor in the Style of Cubase 5. For me as I know a bit how to play drums this would be a very handy feature.
