What function does the new Record button in the Transport bar perform?

  I just upgraded the EZkeys player version 1.2 and noticed that the Transport bar now contains a Record button.

  what is the functionality of this Record button.

  there is no reference to it in the current manual (i.e. the manual supplied with the v1.2 update).
