how ’bout your new Mac? what OS?
what can you tell us about your sound card? make/model
how is it connected to the Mac?
how are you running EZMix? in standalone mode? or in a DAW/host?

It’s a mac book air, with Yosemite 10.10.1

I’m running ez mix in stand alone, I used to mix it with cubase but for the moment I don’t have a mac version.

And my soundcard is a fast track C600, installed correctly, I can record myself through garage band with it, using the software’s vsts.
But when I run Ez mix, it is set to record the sound from my computer’s microphone, not from the soundcard, and I can’t find a way to change it back.

Go to the Settings menu in the standalone and choose Audio Setup. Use the popup menu for “Input device” and select the correct one. Is it not listed there?
