To be honest with you, I don’t know what I was thinking. I hadn’t used the program in a couple years and then I heard the Jazz Midi kit, loved it and ordered it immediately for a project thats coming up. It didn’t seem to be working right in my DAW (Logic). I couldn’t get it to output into the program although it was outputting on my interface. If I had changed the outputs to Midi 1 instead of Omni it probably would have worked but I forgot all about that.
Looking at the program it seemed to be enabled as an RTAS, so I thought there my have been a mistake when I installed it. I definitely had missed the window where you chose AU as the plug in protocol so I got the “brilliant” idea to uninstall EZdrummer and reinstall it, making sure AU only was checked.
The result: No drummer.
No matter how many times I tried to reinstall it there was no drummer to chose in the Toontrack solo field, so the result was, no drummer.
Even doing a Time Machine and going back to the original file downloaded in 2010 I still couldn’t get EZdrummer back up and running.
Is there any way to get it back?
Hi,
please start with following the advice herein:
http://www.toontrack.com/faq/ezdrummer-no-longer-works-with-logic/
Make sure when you re-install you have the latest available version of EZdrummer

Thanks for answering my query. i didn’t find the exact file they mentioned in that support document. It wasn’t in my cache. I use Logic 9.
There were only two toontrack files there. I deleted one of them that was similar to what they suggested deleting :Caches/com.apple.audiounits.cache but nothing changed.
I have already completely deleted EZdrummer and tried to download the update and that didn’t work. Since its just an update, I’m not sure that it contains the whole program or will install over my original program since now when I install the original program there is no drummer.
Still stuck.
Would greatly appreciate any suggestions or info you can give. I wrote technical support a few days ago but have yet to receive a response.
Thanks again for your help.

Or another way to put the questions: If EZdrummer is completely removed from my computer, and I remove all traces of the program, will I be able to install it again, and get a working version using the original download I have here? And if so, what are the steps to reinstalling? Install Toontrack solo first or Ezdrummer?
Or is it engineered so that I am now forced to buy a copy of EZdrummer 2?
Mac OSX 10.7.5 Logic Pro 9
Hi,
if you download the latest update in your account, it includes an uninstaller. If you uninstall everything EZdrummer on your system, you can definitely install EZdrummer again.
Please download and install from the Full Product download available in your account. The download link is directly below your serial number and it is much bigger than the 1.4.0 update, which is only 31,52MB.

I followed your suggesting and completely removed the program, but after re installing, all I got was a folder named Toontrack, and inside it was “documentation” and “sound mover.”
No EZdrummer. Np way to launch it.
Before I had EZcoctail and Toontrack solo. Now nothing is there.
Nothing works
And what exactly did you run after uninstalling? Specific file names, please.

Thanks for getting back to me.
After uninstalling, I downloaded the Ezdrummer program that appeared under my serial number as you recommended . It was called 1.4.0 for Mac.
Made sure it wasn’t an update. They have them listed separately.
Followed the installation instructions to the letter. Made sure it was an Audio Units installation and not VST or anything else.
However, I did keep copies of my old program in the trash. Not completely deleted from the trash yet because I wanted to be sure there would be no need to get them back.
But all folders and related files were deleted before reinstalling.
In the drop down list for technical support where you select your product, EZdrummer is not included…only EZdrummer 2
It seems that this product is no longer supported. Never received and answer from technical support about my problem, and its been over a week since submitting.
Of course I could be wrong, and would be happy to find that out. If someone would point me to a page that shows how to reinstall this program and have it working it would be greatly appreciated.

John,
Let me be more clear. The only download available directly below my serial number is 1.4.0 and its 572.7MB.
It appears to be the same as the one called an update.
There is no Full Product download other than that available on my page. The only other downloads available are updates.
They are:
EZdrummer 1.4.0 update for Mac OS 10.4 or above 2014-10-13 31.52 MB MAC
Toontrack solo 1.3.2 for Mac OS 10.4 or above 2011-09-29 7.16 MB MAC
Cocktail – complementary EZX (Mac OS) 2014-05-08
are you saying that you have not downloaded & reinstalled Toontrack Solo and the EZX Cocktail kit ??
are you not seeing EZDrummer available as an AU plugin in LOGIC??
Unlike EZDrummer2, EZDrummer1 runs only as a plugin and needs a host, like Solo or Logic.
There will be no EZDrummer1 app in the Toontrack folder with the “Sound Mover” app and Documentation.

Hi,
it seems my reply earlier got lost, sorry about that.
The full product is the one that is 572MB, the 1.4.0 update is just updating a previous installation to 1.4.0.
Now, you really have to empty your Trash before re-installing from the Full product. I have seen it happen on Mac several times that the system is still aware of the copy in your Trash and keeps a link to it so if you run an update or re-install, you will simply update the version in your Trash.
I also recommend running the Toontrack solo and Cocktail EZX installer.

Yes! That has been the problem throughout this exercise and after multiple attempts, complete uninstalls reboots and reinstallation’s.
Unlike EZDrummer2, EZDrummer1 runs only as a plugin and needs a host, like Solo or Logic.

I’ve been at it all day. Careful and complete removal from my hard drive and multiple uninstalls. Nothing.
It was working as a stand alone at one point several days ago but couldn’t get it to plug into Logic.
At least then I had a drummer. Now, since uninstalling it there is no more drummer and thus nothing to power the program.

I’m afraid that I’m totally confused…EZDrummer1 has NEVER worked as a standalone.
If you truly were running EZDrummer as a standalone, then your endgame is to install EZDrummer2.
You DO NOT need to install EZDrummer1 before installing EZDrummer2.
Otherwise, I’ve attached a screenshot of EZDrummer1’s location when hosted in Logic 9.
As John suggested above, you should empty your Trash and then run the 500+ MB EZDrummer1 installer (version 1.4.0),
followed by the EZX Cocktail library and if you want to run EZDrummer1 as a standalone, install Toontrack Solo.
Beyond that, PLEASE post screenshots or specific details of your progress and issues.
Thanks.
